Bajpai Kachori Bhandar, located near Leela Theatre on Nawal Kishore Road in Hazratganj, is a renowned spot in Lucknow for savoring traditional khasta kachoris.

Pros: • Delicious Khasta Kachoris: The kachoris are crispy on the outside with a flavorful lentil filling, offering an authentic taste of Lucknow’s street food. • Tasty Aloo Sabzi and Chholay: Served alongside the kachoris, the spicy potato curry and chickpeas are rich in spices and flavors, complementing the kachoris perfectly. • Affordable Pricing: A meal here is reasonably priced, making it accessible for a wide range of customers.

Cons: • Limited Seating: The establishment lacks proper seating arrangements, with customers often standing outside or using makeshift tables to enjoy their food. • Hygiene Concerns: Some patrons have reported cleanliness issues, including finding foreign objects in their food. • Spicy Food: The dishes are known to be quite spicy, which might not suit everyone’s palate.

Final Verdict:

Bajpai Kachori Bhandar offers a genuine taste of Lucknow’s street food, especially with its delectable khasta kachoris and flavorful accompaniments. However, potential visitors should be aware of the limited seating and varying hygiene standards. For those who appreciate spicy and authentic local cuisine, it’s a spot worth trying.

Review: Bajpayee Kachori Bhandar – A Legacy of Flavors in Lucknow

For over three generations, Bajpayee Kachori Bhandar has been a staple in Lucknow’s street food culture, serving some of the best kachoris and pooris in the city. At first glance, the shop may not seem like much, but one bite of their food is enough to change your first impression.

This is a no-frills eatery—there’s no seating, and the shop gets crowded in waves, but that only adds to the charm. Watching the fresh pooris and kachoris being fried right in front of you builds anticipation, and the moment you take a bite, you know it’s worth the wait.

The kachoris are thick and crispy, fried to perfection, and pair beautifully with the spicy, flavorful chole and potato sabzi. The spice level and richness of the flavors make every bite a truly satisfying experience. It’s the kind of food that’s simple yet incredibly delicious, packed with the kind of taste you don’t easily forget.

Despite its humble setting, Bajpayee Kachori Bhandar is an unmissable stop for anyone looking to experience true Lucknowi street food. The long-standing reputation and massive local following speak for themselves—this place is legendary for a...

I love the taste of kachori subzi ❤️👍

Kachori (pronounced [kətʃɔːɽi]) is a deep-fried, spicy, stuffed pastry originating from the Marwar region of Rajasthan, India. It is made of maida filled with a stuffing of baked mixture of moong dal or onions (usually, depends on the variation), besan, coriander, red chili powder, salt, and other Indian spices and deep-fried in vegetable oil until crispy golden brown. It is served hot with sweet and spicy tamarind chutney or occasionally with mint and green chilli chutney.

The kachori is believed to have originated from the Marwar region of Rajasthan, India. As the main trade routes passed through this region, the Marwaris had access to the best ingredients. The use of mild spices like coriander and fennel in the kachori's preparation is thought to be a reflection of the region's climatic conditions, making it well-suited for the dry and hot environment. Over time, the kachori gained popularity as a convenient travel snack, a quick and wholesome start to the day for hungry businessmen and...

This place is hyped so much i was so excited to go there. As being a traveler, i was super excited. So i knew before going there that they have No sitting available, and they serve you on thin paper (not the food grade paper available to food wrap) which as per studies is found to be carcinogenic and you have to stand on road which has traffic going on but i accepted those facts and thought the taste would be worth it. I am kachori fan but when i went there owner suggested me to have poori sabzi(chola and aloo). Poori was hot and very hard. I have seen softer poori as railway stations stalls. And sabzi- which had some chola , aloo mix was way too spicy hot. I had tears and runny nose just in few bites. I am from delhi so i am comfortable with spicy food. But it was not spicy, it was simply chilly. And when there is so many chilly in food you can not feel any other flavor. My tongue got numb and after few bites I decided to put it in dustbin. Same was with kachori , they do not offer any chutney. It is not crispy and filling is very average.
