The Cherry Tree Cafe — Restaurant in Uttar Pradesh

On a friend's recommendation, I decided to visit this Cafe located in a prime location of Hazratganj. Well no doubt the cafe is pretty and ambience is really good. Has both indoor and outdoor sitting. Also, somewhat well maintained. But, I guess they need to focus more on their food and not enhancing their interiors. If the food will be good, obviously people will visit more often. Well, I had ordered this Mexican Spicy Pasta, which I didn't find spicy at all. It was flavorless and I guess I hadn't had this kind of sad pasta anywhere else. Then ordered this chilli chicken pizza, whose chilly chicken were only tasty and the base of the pizza tasted like just random thing. I can make hell lot tastier pizza than this one. Then another dish named Jerked Chicken Tikka which was somewhat better than the rest of the dishes, but was sweet in taste. Now, in the drinks I ordered this Cherry Strawberry Shake which I though would be a thick shake and turns out was more like a double toned milk tasting like strawberry. Green Apple Mojito and Cucumber refresher were way better but still didn't meet the expectation. Lastly, we thought of ordering this chocolate truffle pastry and asked the person to just warm it and they warmed it to such extent that everything got melted. I ordered a blueberry cheese cake over a phone call. The girl named Farheen took my order. She was not attentive on the call. I ordered the cake along with 100/- topper. She told me the total of 1599/-. which I payed her. After an hour she called me again to pay 100/- more for the topper. I asked her that you told the full amount earlier after this she stopped replying to my texts. If she would have told me earlier then I would have ordered from zomato. When I went to pickup the cake they did not give me the topper. I showed them the screenshot after that also one of the employ said 'no sir, Farheen cannot do such mistake. I was taken aback what sort of people they were, highly unprofessional. They supported their colleague even after seeing my conversation. For them friendship was more important than their work. It doesn't matter how good food you offer, it's of no use if you don't know how to treat your customers. I don't know and can not understand how this place has rating of 4.4 on google reviews. My experience was very disappointing to say the least.

We ordered a bombay grill sandwich, a lemon soda, a tiramisu shake and a chicken spaghetti Bolognese. They did not get a single item right.

The Bombay grilled sandwich was not how a bombay grilled sandwich is made. It didn't even look like they grilled it in a sandwich maker, it seemed like they used a tawa to grill it. Further, the stuffing was totally off. They filled the sandwich with aaloo ki sabzi with a very strong taste of zeera. Seriously? and lots of sev and long cucumbers. Totally messed it.

Then the Spaghetti Bolognese. It just wasn't right. The taste was sub par and quantity very less (thank god).

The tiramisu shake reeked of bournvita and milk. And they even couldn't get a simple item such as a lemon soda correct. It tasted bland and the concoction just wasn't correct.

The service was average too.

A total waste of money and time. I don't know how they are surviving at such a premium location with such sub...
