Extremely Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the High Ratings
I recently visited this place based on its 4+ star reviews, but unfortunately, it was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had.
First off, this is not a cafe—it’s more of a bar lounge with a dull, dark ambiance. The furniture was in bad shape, with torn couches and worn-out table that resembled a roadside dhaba more than a premium establishment.
The service was equally poor. Staff in untidy clothes wandered around casually as if they were in a garden, showing no manners or professionalism. The waiter only became attentive when we were done with our meal, which we barely touched due to its bad taste. Plates were already on the table when we arrived, and despite requesting clean ones, the waiter insisted they were already cleaned—a major red flag for hygiene.
Now for the food. We ordered:
• Mix Sauce Pasta: Completely undercooked, overly salty, and drowning in bad-quality cheese. A solid 2/10. • Vegetable Platter: Absolutely inedible. The mushroom, paneer, chaap, and kebabs were all tasteless. For the first time ever, I left most of my food on the plate because it was simply that bad. • Frappe: It tasted like sweetened milk with no chocolate flavor—again, left half of it untouched.
Even after asking for recommendations before ordering anything, the waiter was extremely casual and suggested typical roadside stall dishes like Paneer Tikka, Chilly Paneer, Fried Rice, which didn’t fit the setting at all. For a place charging ₹2500 per couple, I expected much better. They even charge ₹110 for a water bottle and ₹199 for a soft drink, yet deliver food quality that’s worse than a roadside stall.
To top it all off, the loud music was unbearable, making it impossible to enjoy the meal. The only redeeming quality was the mouth freshener they served at the end.
I highly advise against visiting this place, especially with family. The service, food, and overall experience are not worth the...
Read morePerception refers to the interpretation of what we take in through our eyes - this line perfectly suits to Farzi Cafe as this place creates an illusion with its cuisine. Farzi Cafe is a modern Indian Bistro that caters fusion of standard Indian classics and universal fare with Indian ascendancy. Farzi cafe is a modish caff that embraces adequate & insurmountable bar, palatial ambiance, moreish meals with different screening & live performances too.
After the pandemic lockdown the cafe is reopened taking all the hygiene & precautionary measures that includes sanitisation & temperature check at the main entrance, separate sanitisation zones inside the cafe & also the sitting place is properly sanitised after the diners walk out.
The Chefs & other cafe’s staff are taking proper precautionary measures like wearing mask, face shield, gloves, etc. while preparing food & drinks, providing contactless dining to the customers that includes staff placing us the cuisines at our table without directly serving it in our plates & also facilitating digital menu.
They also initiated a remarkable approach towards hygienics i.e using machined seal packed cutlery that the diner opens itself & and after their use these cutleries are disposed off.
As their speciality cafe serves the best fusion dishes like dal chawal arancini, besant nagar fried chillies, etc. They have introduced new menu that is infused with chinjabi (chinese-punjabi) dishes like chinjabi chilly paneer, etc. and also introduced meal boxes that is booming & apt as a proper lunch or dinner meal.
Cafe is also equipped with digital contactless payment methods like paytm, phonepe, etc. & they are also offering 20% off on the entire bill.
And due to all above mentioned attributes, I highly recommend @farzicafelko to all for having a pleasurable dining experience with safety & hygiene...
Read moreFarzi Cafe has always struck chords when it comes to fusion, molecular gastronomy and cooking science. After a memorable experience, almost 7 months ago in my hometown lucknow, my taste buds were craving for some more Fusion foods and decided to visit Farzi Cafe at BBD Viraj Tower for my friends birthday celebration.
Located on the Ground floor, this place was spacious and had informal seating with leather sofas, couch and chair seating all across. Cane lanterns hang around the ceiling with dim lighting across adding some oomph to the entire Ambience.
Trying to explore something new that I haven't tried last time, we ordered some Munch bites, cocktails, Quick meals and A delightful desert.
Rajasthani Pyaas kahori with tamarind foam was a surprising twist to our Regular pyass Kachori. Bite sized small kachoris topped with Tamarind foam and served alongside with okra crisps salad was a delightful starter that was crisp, light and tangy to taste.
In the Drinks, I tried their Farzi Idea, which was served as the drink name suggest in a Bulb bottle. This Vodka based cocktail was tangy and frothy and went along with my starters.
Although had no space leftover for any more meal, we still couldn't let go to try their Popular desert, Mud pile. Crumble cake mix that actually looked like dirt pile having many elements mixed along. It had chocolate crumble, fudge, brownie, walnuts, and served with more chocolate sauce to drizzle on the top. A spade to mix the pile made it looked so real. It was delicious.
A Beautiful lunch that makes me crave for more Farzi treats. Planning to go to their soon. Looking forward for more fusion...
