Utter Disappointment with Mr Brown Bakery – Never Trust Them for Your Celebrations

If you want to be embarrassed at your party in front of all your guests, then you should order from Mr Brown. My experience with them was the most ridiculous ever. Despite quoting expensive rates, higher than those in metros like Bangalore and Mumbai, they don't even provide decent service.

I ordered a cake for my relative at 5:20 pm and requested it to be delivered by 10 pm, or at the latest by 10:30 pm. At 10:45 pm, the cake still hadn't arrived. When I called them, no one at Mr Brown was aware of the order. The guy on the phone kept asking others in the bakery if they knew about it, but no one responded. He then told me they would send it when the rider arrived.

This is their management!

I called multiple times and texted, but there was no response. Finally, when they answered, we had an obvious heated conversation. By the time they delivered the cake, my relatives, who had to catch a flight, had already left. The rider ended up giving the cake to the security guard as the house was locked and no one was there.

What an embarrassment for me!

Guys, beware. Never trust Mr Brown, especially the Sapru Marg Hazratganj outlet. Whether it's about ordering fast food, baklava, cheeseburgers, veg burgers, paneer, rusk, or fruit cake, don't place the order with them. They will spoil your happy moments and create an embarrassing situation for you.

Competition is rising, and a lot of other bakeries such as Forever JJ Bakery, Good Bakery, Walnut Bakery, and Cherry Tree in Lucknow are doing well and manage their kitchens pretty well.

I have lost all trust after this episode and will never place a single order again.

Relevant Indian Food Safety Regulations: FSSAI Guidelines: • Under the Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulation, 2011, food businesses must ensure that the food served is free from contaminants and foreign matter. Finding an insect in food directly violates these standards. Consumer Protection Act, 2019: • Customers have the right to expect safe, hygienic, and consumable food. Selling contaminated food is a clear violation of consumer rights. Legal Metrology Act, 2009: • As per the act, food outlets must maintain transparency in dealings with consumers. Refusing to allow the documentation of a complaint violates the consumer’s right to evidence for any grievance redressal.

My Recommendation:

I strongly advise against dining at Mr. Brown Restaurant until they take corrective action. They should address their hygiene practices, train staff on customer rights, and improve their overall service quality. If you experience something similar, report such incidents to the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) via their online portal or toll-free number.

Mr Brown Bakery is very famous and reliable shop. It definitely provides the best facilities during this coronavirus pandemic. What I suggest is this that the customers who are visiting there should also observe distance practices. When I visited today I found that even ladies, the elderly people and young people were trying to get their bills clear without any queue. So I humbly suggest Mr Brown Bakery should do something in this direction while retaining the customer interest. They should protect the other customers who are anyway get unnecessarily exposed to infection.
