Extremely Disappointed – Poor Customer Service at Walnut Bakery

On 1st August 2025, I visited Walnut Bakery in the hope of enjoying a peaceful breakfast and overcoming a strong morning craving. As someone who frequently visits bakeries like Danbro, The Harvest Feast (THF), and many others across the city, I always appreciate good food served with basic courtesy and professionalism. Unfortunately, Walnut Bakery failed miserably on both counts of service and customer care.

Upon arrival, the ambiance seemed promising, and I was genuinely looking forward to trying out a few items. I went ahead and placed an order for three items. However, just a couple of minutes later, I realized I was running short on time and immediately requested the staff to cancel one of the items. To my utter surprise, I was told *very curtly and without hesitation that cancellation was not possible and that “you will have to take it” . no discussion, no attempt to understand the situation, just a flat refusal.

What made the experience worse was the absolute lack of basic customer service and empathy. Despite trying to explain my concern politely, no staff member took the time to listen or offer any kind of assistance. There was no “sorry,” no “let me check,” not even a “we understand your situation.” It felt as though my presence and concerns simply didn’t matter to them.

In contrast, I’ve had experiences at Danbro and THF, where even during busy hours, the staff has gone out of their way to make customers feel heard and comfortable. At Walnut Bakery, however, the staff seemed rigid, disinterested, and completely disconnected from what good customer service means. For a bakery that appears premium and positions itself among popular options, the actual experience was far from acceptable.

Food may be good (though I didn’t stay long enough to enjoy it), but hospitality and service are equally important, especially in a place where customers are coming to relax or enjoy a break. If the service is unwelcoming and inconsiderate, it ruins the entire experience – and that’s exactly what happened in my case.

I left the bakery feeling frustrated, disappointed, and unheard. This was not what I expected at all, and I can confidently say that I will never return to Walnut Bakery again, nor will I recommend it to anyone in my circle.

There are plenty of better places out there where customers are respected, and genuine situations are handled with understanding. Walnut Bakery, sadly, is not...

We were looking for a place to fit 25-30people with kids for a birthday party and liked the ambience, decor and polite staff of Walnut. We loved their pastries, puffs, tarts.

We sat there and discussed everything, including menu and play area which has trampoline also but since our kids were mostly 7years old so we asked them not to include trampoline. We discussed about the projector, magic show and all in detail repeatedly (on calls later) also to avoid any confusion. They called us on 7th October too to see a live birthday party going on and we went, sat for almost 35-40mins, ordered few pastries and puff and booked our date by giving some amount in advance. But what thought to be perfect turned out worst management ever. Starters were not refilled unless I pointed them out. Assorted breads in buffet were missing, I kept asking them polietly but they ignored. Red Velvet Brownie in desert was not on counter. I asked their staff few times, than they kept 2 jars of red velvet sundae and expected 10 adults to dig their spoons in it and share.

One of their staff Virendra started an argument saying Red velvet brownie and Red velvet sundae is same. They did not served what was on the menu printed and then had the audacity to argue in an ongoing party. Now talk about main birthday cake, no where in the menu its mentioned that cake is charged at an extra cost. This member of staff always said 'Maam cake ka design aap btaengi baqi ho jaega aur sath mei red velvet brownie rahegi'. Finalised the design on calls and that time also, NO ONE talked about any price. When the party got over, they charged 5500/- extra for cake which was never mentioned earlier. There are many small things too which I choose to leave (taste of dishes etc.).

Very unprofessional staff, worst experience. We payed them full for everything, even for the last minute shocks they presented before us in the name of bills. Pathetic experience. I would'nt suggest anyone...
