Items such as Chicken Masala , Galawati Kebabs and Mutton Biryani is considered as more superior (indeed it is) than the iconic Dastarkhwan which is just adjacent to the shop and Shekhawat which is in close neighbourhood . Thier dishes have the cult following in Lucknow who loves it for spicy quotient which is mildly higher than the Dastarkhwan and mildly less than Shekhawat. The next Mutton Biryani shop which comes close in taste is Lalle Ki Biryani which is at Alambagh .
The good thing about the mutton , kababs and Chicken Masala is the superior cutting of the pieces and mincing of the meat and how it is laced and cooked or simmered for that genuine Awadhi taste .
A place worth to be visited by any genuine food lover who wants to taste those legendary non-veg Awadhi cuisines. This indeed is the quality spot serving quality stuff.
However before visiting this delightful eating joint mind your parking as the place is very crowded and congested . The owner of the restaurant is very friendly though he does not provide any discount even on huge billings in contrast to neighbouring...

I recently went with some friends and we ordered the gilawati kebab, mughlai parantha, dry Kali mirch chicken, and mutton biryani. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted absolutely amazing! I highly recommend these dishes if you visit.
That said, the restaurant can get quite crowded and you might have to wait a while to get a table. There's also no prior reservation system, so keep that in mind. Parking can be a bit of a challenge too - you'll have to park at your own risk. However, I've been going to this place for over 15 years now and have always managed to find a space for parking.
Overall, Open Air Restaurant is a must-visit eatery in Lucknow, especially if you're a fan of Mughlai cuisine. The food is top-notch and definitely worth trying. Just be prepared to deal with the crowds and parking challenges. Despite these minor inconveniences, I'd definitely recommend giving Open Air...
Read moreWorst experience ever! I booked the first floor for a family gathering in April 2025 and was charged a hefty amount. However, when my guests arrived, only one of the three air conditioners was working — the other two seemed to be there just for display. To make matters worse, the hall didn’t have any fans either. When I raised this issue, both the manager, Rahul, and the owner, Uttam Singh, began blaming each other instead of offering a solution. Eventually, the owner started yelling at me simply because I asked for two fans. The food served was cold and far from acceptable for the price we paid. The only positive was the attentiveness of the waiters — beyond that, everything else was a disaster. My guests were sweating throughout the event, and I experienced one of the most humiliating...
