If you’re visiting Haridwar and craving authentic North Indian flavors that make your taste buds dance, Mohan Ji Puri Wale is a must-visit spot. Nestled in the bustling streets near Har Ki Pauri, this legendary eatery offers a no-frills dining experience packed with nostalgia, flavor, and tradition.
Food: Mohan Ji Puri Wale is famous for its crisp, golden puris, served fresh and steaming hot. The puris have the perfect puff and balance of crunch and softness, each bite almost melting in your mouth. The star accompaniment, their aloo ki sabzi, is bursting with rich, mildly spiced flavors that lean on the comfort side of the spice scale yet have a satisfying kick. The thick gravy, loaded with soft, simmered potatoes and aromatic spices, brings out the warmth of Haridwar’s culinary roots. They also serve chole, which has a deep, earthy flavor, and the combination of puri, aloo, and chole creates a trifecta of taste that’s simply unmatched. Don’t forget to pair it with their freshly made, tangy pickles and green chilies—it’s a game-changer!
Ambiance: Expect a simple, bustling environment that lets the food do the talking. The place is always crowded, with locals and tourists filling up the tiny space with lively chatter and a shared love for good food. There may not be extravagant décor, but there’s an undeniable charm in the humble setup. It’s the kind of place where you rub shoulders with fellow food lovers and bond over plates of delicious puris.
Service: Quick and efficient! The staff here knows they’re dealing with hungry crowds, so they serve with a brisk pace without compromising on quality. Despite the hustle and bustle, the servers are friendly and accommodating, making sure you have everything you need for a memorable meal.

Read moreMohan Ji Puri Wale 😋😊 Mohan Ji Puri Wale in Haridwar, a shop based in Har Ki Pauri Haridwar City in Uttarakhand. Devotees who come to Haridwar to take a bath in Ganga or to visit Haridwar definitely go to Mohan Ji Puri Wale. 😊Many people have been visiting Mohan Ji Puri shop for many years to taste Aloo Puri and sweets. 😋Mohan Ji's Puri shop based on Har Ki Pauri is famous far and wide. You will have to wait every time for your order not because of their delayed service but because of pending lined orders.🤗 The best place I can say to eat after a cold dupki in ganga Maiya at haridwar, the food quality there's only one small issue that there's less space to stand 😮💨and eat there like outside it's only one table and inside only I guess 3-4 table even though it's not a big issue, but I bet if you taste their poori sabzi once you'll never go to anyone else's shop.🤗 This food joint is more like a landmark by the banks of Ganga. A decades old 😊 establishment, it stands true to its name as an essential experience in Haridwar. While the menu has a lot of traditional dishes, specially a range of snacks and sweets, it is quite famed for its aloo-puri platters. Made to order, its sizzling hot puris and spicy, fried aloos have been wooing foodies from all around. 😋Complement it with a glass of fresh lassi and there you have an experience to remember. A local's favourite, the food joint runs to packed numbers during late evenings. Thus, it is advisable to visit early, both in the morning hours as well as in the afternoon. 🙏

Read moreThere is much hype by video bloggers and advertisements on Mohan Ji Puri wale shop and that's why it gets more popular, popular not for good taste but for advertisements. Coming to price, price is much costlier than the actual food quality, charging 80 INR is too much with 4 poori and subzi. The cost should be 40 - 50 INR. Coming to taste, it is very poor as you need to use both of your hand in order to broke small bite and Subzi was very bad because it is very much salty and spicy and we saw most people are throwing the poori and subzi in dustbin after taking a small bite. Coming to ambience, it is pathetic as no place outside the shop to eat, there is one small table outside the shop and you have to take food in standing and most of the time the table is dirty and occupied by people, also due to beggers begging for food outside, so it is very difficult to eat. Also they have inside the sitting area but very crowded and not advisable to go and sit. On to the value of money, would urge uttarakhand Govt. to check the price of food items selling by any vendor, based on their actual effort and cost, so that such kind of shop should not have the monopoly of cheating the travellers specially the God's place where people are coming for peace, divinity and solace and not for...
