Rustic Road Café is one of those hidden gems in Rishikesh that you stumble upon and instantly feel glad you did. Nestled a little away from the crowded lanes, it has a charm that’s true to its name – rustic, raw, and cozy at the same time. The café has a laid-back vibe with wooden furniture, warm lighting, and an open seating area that makes it perfect for unwinding after exploring the town.
The first thing that strikes you here is how welcoming the atmosphere is. The staff is friendly without being overbearing, and they really make you feel at home. It’s the kind of place where you could sit for hours with your laptop or a book and no one would hurry you.
Food here is another highlight. Their coffee is rich and flavorful, and I’d say it’s one of the better brews you’ll find in Rishikesh. The menu is a mix of Indian and global comfort food – everything from pancakes and sandwiches to healthy bowls and pasta. I tried their hummus platter and it was fresh, generous, and absolutely satisfying.
Rustic Road Café is not just about food, though; it’s about the experience. Whether you want to catch up with friends, enjoy some solo time, or simply soak in the café culture of Rishikesh, this spot...
Read moreI found this place to be very overrated, food was barely OK, I had a sandwich with chips, that was nice. The chips were homemade and nice, and the omelette sandwich, well... Can't really mess that up.. My gf ordered some avocado toast and instead she got some roti bread drenched in some sort of avocado paste that tastes like the ones at the supermarket..Coffee was terrible.. Food took more than half an hour to come out. I got my sandwich first and finished my food while my gf foods didn't even arrive, we asked about it just to be reassured with a "its coming" another 10 min Goes by we asked again and the answer was "its ready".. When we received that mush green looking plate, we were shocked, we actually laughed..it was more like a pancake with avocado syrup. I wish we took a picture.. End of the experience paying the bill, very expensive!! The man at the till asked how was everything? Which I answered "oh well!!" and he thanks me for the compliment that I believe he thought I said,...
Read moreHappened upon this place when my friend and I were looking for some simple Western food to satisfy a recovering Delhi-belly. When perusing the menu we saw someone bring served a dish of stir fried tofu and veggies which look good so we sat down. The owner is extremely helpful and friendly, offering to alter any dish to our requirements. I had the Lebanon salad which is grilled veggies and hummus and toast, my friend had the broccoli platter which is grilled veggies, salad and white rice.
The mains were fresh and tasty, seasoned simply with black pepper and salt. My 2 criticisms are 1. I would love to see olive oil used instead of vegetable oil, for health and taste reasons, especially on a middle eastern dish. 2. I would have much preferred either better quality bread (freshly baked not factory produced) or rice/couscous/quinoa with the Lebanon salad.
I also had an espresso and tiramisu which were good, although the tiramisu didn't taste much like...
