I've been visiting Washington for the last 5 years, and I must say, it's my absolute go-to restaurant in Darjeeling! The momo Washington serves, exceeds all expectations! Both pork and chicken! The fried rice is what authentic Chinese should be like, white, non oily, and devoid of any ridiculous sauce. I would also highly recommend the Chinese chopsuey, which is served with a more than generous topping of meat and vegetables. You've got to give it to the chef and the owner of Washington for not being miserly with their ingredients! What also sets Washigton apart from other restaurants in Darjeeling is the cosy ambience, the old world charm of it being a historic institution in Darjeeling town. The staff is always smiling, extremely helpful, and I've never seen anyone being rude there ever. If you really want to taste real Chinese food that does not leave you with a heartburn, Washington...

Tucked away in the charming lanes of Chauk Bazaar, Darjeeling, this small and cozy restaurant—legendary since 1948—holds an old-world charm that instantly draws you in. We tried their momos and soup while dining in, and the experience felt warm and nostalgic.

Impressed, we decided to pack dinner from here to enjoy at the hotel. Unfortunately, that decision turned into a major disappointment.

The packed food was nothing short of a disaster. The fried rice was severely undercooked—hard, grainy, and completely inedible. Both the garlic chicken and chili chicken came in tiny portions with meat pieces so small they could pass off as peanuts. The portion sizes were shockingly inadequate, even though the prices were affordable.

Affordability means little when the food isn't even edible. I had high hopes from such a historic eatery, but sadly, it failed to deliver where it...

Fantastic , no nonsense , a very clean and well run hole in the wall restaurant establishment. Food is top notch, they have been doing it for several decades now. I go there every week. The owner, his brother and even the servers bend backwards to ensure that you leave satisfied.

Try their shapta , flat noodles, momos and sausages everything is good. They are so accomodating that even if you want to sit there and eat ALU mimi from the nearby shop , the restaurant owner who is a thorough gentleman will smilingly say 'OK!'.

NOTE: Since they are so flooded with customers, chilled beer may not be available round the clock. You can ask the owner to pop some into the freezer as soon as you enter even before looking at the...

It is very close to the rink mall. Mainly went there for the momo, but it was finished. So ordered flat chicken chowmein, chicken thupka and dry pork shapta. Among these chicken thupka was ok type and pork shapta was too much of dry and more like no spicy at all, if anyone looking for non spicy pork dish can order this. But flat chowmein was good, flavourful and full of chicken and veggies. Next time if going to the shop, then would definitely like to try their momos as well

It is a cute little cafe, offering cabin culture. The place is very small and congested. Definitely not for large groups. We ordered veg fried rice , chilli chicken and soft drinks. The fried rice was really good but the chili chicken gravy was not upto the mark. I personally didn't like the gravy . But the quantity was huge and the chicken pieces were tender and soft. Overall it is a good place to chill.
