Upon visiting "The Little India," our dining experience was overshadowed by several significant concerns that profoundly impacted our overall impression of the establishment. got food poisoning serious illness
Ambience: From the onset, we were greeted by the disconcerting sight of numerous insects meandering around our designated seating area. This forced us to relocate, which in itself was an inconvenience. The table we settled at appeared to have been neglected post the previous diner's visit, evident from the oily residue and lack of cleanliness. Such lapses in hygiene not only diminish the dining experience but also raise questions about the establishment's standards.
Food: The culinary offerings further compounded our dissatisfaction. The trio of rice dishes presented were notably dry, rendering them almost inedible. The chicken integrated within these rice dishes was overcooked to the point of being excessively dry, making it challenging to consume. Moreover, the accompaniments were scanty, failing to balance the dryness of the rice.
The fish fry exhibited a disconcerting burnt appearance and emitted an overpowering palm oil aroma, further detracting from its appeal. The chicken 65 dish, despite its vivid red hue, lacked the desired flavor and crispness one would expect. The use of artificial coloring appeared to be a mere cover-up for subpar preparation and frying techniques.
Adding to our list of grievances was the absence of basic amenities like mineral water, which one would anticipate at a restaurant of this purported caliber.
Conclusion: Regrettably, our experience at "The Little India" was far from satisfactory. Given the INR 750 price tag for the thali, we expected a gastronomic treat synonymous with Chennai's rich culinary heritage. Instead, we were met with disappointments at every turn. Until there are tangible improvements in both hygiene standards and food quality, it's challenging to recommend this establishment to...
Read moreHello foodies, this is my first post in WCE, I wanted to share abt a place which is very special. Finally I happened to visit this amazing restaurant in vadapalani. They are well know for their signature maharaja meals, 3 of us ordered 3 maharaja meals, we were about to order some side dish but they suggested to order later if we need it. there u go, a big leaf was placed , then Came a series of side dishes - chicken thokku, kada thokku, prawn thokku, dry fish thokku, dal gravy, kootu, Poriyal, appalam, pickle, Andhra podi, ghee and then came rice, we were about to eat and then comes the gravy bowls - mutton, crab, fish, sambar, kara kulambu, curd, rasam. We said let’s eat, they told us to wait and then came four full side dishes - kada roast which had a big kadai, tawa prawn, mutton chukka, fish fry.
When we started eating, we all could just say a big vow to their simply the best food, everything dish had its own flavour and taste. We could not even eat 40% of what they gave us for their maharaja virundu. Over all the bill for 3 maharaja meals was 3*400= 1200.
Special mention to their hygiene and tradition concept of serving food with mud pots and water on mud jugs.
