Upon visiting "The Little India," our dining experience was overshadowed by several significant concerns that profoundly impacted our overall impression of the establishment. - got food poisoning serious illness #### Ambience: From the onset, we were greeted by the disconcerting sight of numerous insects meandering around our designated seating area. This forced us to relocate, which in itself was an inconvenience. The table we settled at appeared to have been neglected post the previous diner's visit, evident from the oily residue and lack of cleanliness. Such lapses in hygiene not only diminish the dining experience but also raise questions about the establishment's standards. #### Food: The culinary offerings further compounded our dissatisfaction. The trio of rice dishes presented were notably dry, rendering them almost inedible. The chicken integrated within these rice dishes was overcooked to the point of being excessively dry, making it challenging to consume. Moreover, the accompaniments were scanty, failing to balance the dryness of the rice. The fish fry exhibited a disconcerting burnt appearance and emitted an overpowering palm oil aroma, further detracting from its appeal. The chicken 65 dish, despite its vivid red hue, lacked the desired flavor and crispness one would expect. The use of artificial coloring appeared to be a mere cover-up for subpar preparation and frying techniques. Adding to our list of grievances was the absence of basic amenities like mineral water, which one would anticipate at a restaurant of this purported caliber. #### Conclusion: Regrettably, our experience at "The Little India" was far from satisfactory. Given the INR 750 price tag for the thali, we expected a gastronomic treat synonymous with Chennai's rich culinary heritage. Instead, we were met with disappointments at every turn. Until there are tangible improvements in both hygiene standards and food quality, it's challenging to recommend this establishment to discerning diners.

Only ambience is good, no proper service at all, we ordered mutton manchow soup, which is not at all hot, the lady who served doesn't know which is chicken, which is mutton soup, she asked us to check by eating, when we asked to pour water since they had big mud jugs, we could not lift it with left hand while eating, they didn't serve at all. Next ordered item was Tandoori garlicchicken, which was a bitter taste, we ordered pomfret fish fry, which is not cleaned well And no masala was mixed well. Next is curry dosa which is also not upto the mark. Road side shops will be more better than this restaurant, we visited on 3rd sep 2023 for dinner, we were regular customer to this restaurant since 2019,it never disappointed us earlier, now after moving to this new location at vadapalani, everything has changed . We travelled 20 km to have this worst food, when we said this to the person who gave us bill, no proper response from him , even the mojito we ordered was also not good, this restaurant just ruined our celebration mode and 2600rs spent was total waste.

Just Wow & Worthy Place This place has very limited parking and ambience pretty decent they serve water in copper glass which is good Coming to the main part is there food i ordered morattu briyani combo Rs.750/- which comprised with 1.Huge quantity of hyderabad briyani with one big breast chicken piece taste simply awesome (If You want Mutton Briyani then Additional Rs.50/-) 2.Makarel(Paarai) Fish polichathu 3.Two pieces of Chicken Tandoori 4.Medium Size Crab Fry 5.Chilli Prawns 6 pieces big size 6.Two Fried Boiled eggs 7.Gravy 8.Raita 9.Soda Which was very worthy myself, wife and kid shared the combo still we couldnot complete the Quantity they provided and we have told them to parcel. Staffs are very polite and very quick service. The reason i didnt give 5 stars because they didnt give sweet with this combo and importantly they dont have any dessert like icecreams or falooda or milkshakes or juices. But one the best places for non-veg varieties. Must Try place

Hello foodies, this is my first post in WCE, I wanted to share abt a place which is very special. Finally I happened to visit this amazing restaurant in vadapalani. They are well know for their signature maharaja meals, 3 of us ordered 3 maharaja meals, we were about to order some side dish but they suggested to order later if we need it. there u go, a big leaf was placed , then Came a series of side dishes - chicken thokku, kada thokku, prawn thokku, dry fish thokku, dal gravy, kootu, Poriyal, appalam, pickle, Andhra podi, ghee and then came rice, we were about to eat and then comes the gravy bowls - mutton, crab, fish, sambar, kara kulambu, curd, rasam. We said let’s eat, they told us to wait and then came four full side dishes - kada roast which had a big kadai, tawa prawn, mutton chukka, fish fry.

When we started eating, we all could just say a big vow to their simply the best food, everything dish had its own flavour and taste. We could not even eat 40% of what they gave us for their maharaja virundu. Over all the bill for 3 maharaja meals was 3*400= 1200.

Special mention to their hygiene and tradition concept of serving food with mud pots and water on mud jugs.

Price -5 Taste-5 Hospitality-5 Ambience -4

Final verdict - If u don’t visit this place, u will never get to know the real taste of our South Indian food.

The little India restaurant Below green trends, No:6, Kumaran Colony Main Road, Kumaran Colony, Vadapalani, Chennai,...
