Azzuri bay is a serene, beautiful restaurant situated near Adyar. It's a dim lit roof top restaurant which serve Asia pacific, Thai and specially Italian cuisines. Their speciality is Thai and Italian food, they have all kinds of vegetarian and non-vegetarian menu. The menu offers a good platter of non veg items and a nice mixture of italian thin crusted pizzas, pastas and lazanyas. A very cozy place if you want to hang out with your girlfriend or your best half. They have both open type and air-conditioned tables in the roof top. The restaurant itself is located in a quite place in the interior of Adyar. The roof top gives a very beautiful view of the Adyar river and the Adyar bridge. The restaurant food quality is very good. We went as a couple and had soups, starters and shared a main course meal. It was delicious. The price is also not very expensive, it's comes to 1200 to 1500 for a couple. The entrance shares a wonderful Buddha waterfall statue, giving you a typical Thai experience. The restaurant greets you to a beautiful golden Buddha, overviewing the serene Adyar bay, which is a famous spot for taking breathtaking pictures. On the downside the furniture is wooden, so it gets a little uncomfortable if you are sitting for a long time in a wooden chair. The place has also room for party orders and groups get togethers. They do home delivery through swaggy. The restaurant also has an all indoor type air-conditioned restaurant in the second floor, while the roof top is on the third floor. They don't have washrooms on the rooftop restaurants, one has to go all the way down to second floor for taking a leak or to even was ones hands. They do offer finger bowls though. The roof is covered with asbestos and sometimes it gets hot in the summer and one would not enjoy the typical roof top experience. Altogether it's a very delicate, well crafted, beautiful restaurant, definitely a thumbs up from me. Do check...
Read moreAzzuri Bay is a nice rooftop restaurant where I’ve been to a couple of times, and this review will be based off all my experiences .
They have a gigantic menu with specialised sections for each cuisine (from Thai to Indian to Italian) which makes it hard to order but also provides a multitude of options: and a lot of dishes worth trying, from so many cuisines
Of the dishes I tried-
The desserts including cheesecake and Tres Leches were good too
The servers were totally unresponsive and didn’t attend to any of our calls . So giving service a low rating.
Ambience is great at the rooftop but the location is cramped, with the toilet situated a floor below with a terribly cramped staircase to reach it.
It’s worth coming again due to the vast menu and dishes to try and it caters to...
Read moreFirst the good part -
Food taste and quantity they provide is very good. Generally we don't get this quantity for this price at most of the other places. We could see that most of the customers were seen carrying the leftover food.
Now coming to not so good part -
The place is severely understaffed. There were only 3 boys and one supervisor manning the entire 3rd floor. This was causing delays in getting the bill or even refill for water. I could just feel for the boys.
The water tasted like normal tap water. Didn't seem like RO purified. Not sure if this is a tactic by the restaurant to force customers to buy bottled water.
Billing was done recklessly. Bottled water was added even though we didn't use it. Instead of Chicken Lasagne we were billed for Sea food Lasagne. When these errors were pointed out, they rectified it. One has to check the bill carefully.
We had some leftover food that we asked to pack. It took more than 30 minutes to pack. When we asked the reason for the delay they mentioned that the food fell down by mistake while packing and that they were preparing the food freshly to be packed. When we got the package, the quantity was way less than what was leftover. It was almost half of what we asked to pack. We asked the person who handed over the package about this. He just apologized and cut a sorry figure. Not sure what really happened inside.
We went to the place to celebrate an occasion. Already by the time we reached the place, an unusually heavy traffic for a Sunday evening left us exasperated. Subsequently this kind of experience at the restaurant pushed us to a decision not to visit this place anytime in...
