An Absolute Disappointment !!!

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to visit the Barbecue Restaurant in Velachery, Chennai with great anticipation. However, the experience left me feeling disappointed and unsatisfied.

While the mutton Kabab and Dal makhni stood out as flavorful highlights, the rest of the dishes failed to meet my expectations. From the very beginning, the Pani Puri lacked the right balance of Masaalas, leaving a lackluster impression. The grilled fish, paneer, and chicken starters were average in taste, failing to deliver that desired burst of flavors.

Midway through the meal, the restaurant served their signature whole fried potatoes, which unfortunately fell short. They turned out to be nothing more than skinned potatoes accompanied by sauce, making them easily avoidable.

Moving on to the main course, the Chicken Chettinad, Mutton, Fish Curry, and even the Biryani were reminiscent of roadside dishes with an average taste. There was nothing extraordinary or memorable about these offerings. Similarly, the pasta ordered by my wife lacked proper cooking and seasoning, despite our polite request for a replacement. Unfortunately, even the second attempt at pasta failed to impress.

Hoping for a sweet ending to the meal, we tried various desserts. To our dismay, they were served cold and lacked freshness. From the Malpua and Rasbhari to the chocolate coconut balls and mango cream, they all fell short of expectations, resembling pastries from a low-rated establishment.

What further added to the disappointment was the price we paid. At Rs. 1800, the overall dining experience did not justify the cost. In Velachery, there are numerous other dining options where you can enjoy better food at a more reasonable price. For instance, places like Murugan Idly, Masaledaar, and Amman Mess offer delightful alternatives.

If you're specifically looking for a buffet experience, I would recommend considering Hotel West-in Buffet in Velachery. Although it may be pricier, the taste and quality of their offerings are simply unmatched.

Please note that an additional Rs. 100 is required for car parking at the Barbecue Restaurant, which further contributes to the overall expense. Other restaurants in the area do not impose this additional charge.

Despite my disappointment, I believe in providing honest feedback. While the Barbecue Restaurant in Velachery may have fallen short of my expectations, I hope they can take this as an opportunity to refine and improve their offerings to provide a more satisfying dining experience for...

On the occasion of our wedding anniversary we've dined at Barbeque Nation,grand mall Velachery on 26th Sunday for lunch between 12noon to 2pm..

To start with starters served in the table were fine. But we ended calling the people who serve to serve us with the on table starters.. The Tandoori leg and sheek Kebab was of good taste.. But other starters which was served on the grill had average taste only and was served in single flavour only. The chicken served in Grill seemed to have some bad taste.

We were already been to the place before wherein the quality and the taste greatly impressed us to book this time but unfortunately it left a great disappointment in each of my our family member face..

The main course didn't have enough menu and the taste was also so average where we felt that the charges should be only appilicable for the starters and the main course should complementary. To mention in particular Briyani was a disaster and also Rasam didnt have enough salt.Also the veg cowmin, manchurian were not tasting good. The non-veg main dishes were also very average. In particular egg Chettinadu gravy, manglore fish curry was very average. Live counter dishes can be improved.. Pizza was so cold and also the tawa fried chicken was not so good.

BBQ nation failed to keep up the standard and they failed to be places for foodies visiting them.... It's high time you need to maintain and keep up the original standard of yours..

Due to poor taste there is lots of food wastage and Altogether a very average dining experience👎

I am writing to let you know I'm so sorry about a recent experience with your food delivery service via the official Barbeque Nation app.

On 21st June`2025, I placed a prepaid food order at 4:00 PM. To my dismay, despite waiting patiently for over four hours, there was no communication or update regarding the status of my order. I attempted to contact customer support multiple times, only to be repeatedly redirected without any meaningful response or resolution. It was only after six hours that I was told the order had been dispatched — however, it never arrived.

This meal was intended for lunch, and unfortunately, your team failed to deliver even by dinner. Such delays and lack of accountability are unacceptable, especially from a reputed brand like Barbeque Nation.

Later, I obtained a manager’s contact number, but even then, there was no proper acknowledgment of the issue. I was told a refund would be initiated after two days. I had to follow up again, speak with yet another manager, and only after providing payment screenshots did I finally receive the refund.

Throughout this entire experience, not once was there any sincere apology, gesture of goodwill, or courtesy extended. On the contrary, I was met with unprofessional behavior and even raised voices from your representatives. This lack of basic customer empathy and service has left a lasting negative impression.

I have always associated Barbeque Nation with quality service and food, but this experience was far from that. I am extremely disappointed and have decided not to dine with or order from Barbeque Nation again.

I hope you take this feedback seriously and work towards ensuring such experiences are not repeated for...
