Madras Coffee House at MGR Chennai Central Railway Station offers a refreshing break for travelers seeking quality food amidst the hustle of train journeys. I recently tried their Veg Biryani (₹125) and the trademark filter coffee (₹35), and both lived up to expectations.

The Veg Biryani, priced reasonably, was surprisingly flavorful, a railway station eatery. It had a good balance of spices, fresh vegetables, that made it a delightful meal. Compared to railway station food options, this biryani out in terms of both taste and quality. The portion size was sufficient, making it a hearty choice for travelers looking for a fulfilling meal.

The highlight, however, was their filter coffee, which lives up to the Madras Coffee House's reputation. At ₹35, it delivers the perfect blend of strong decoction and creamy froth, offering a traditional South Indian coffee experience. The aroma and taste make it an ideal pick-me-up, especially during long travel hours.

The service was efficient, and the space, though bustling, was clean and well-maintained. For those passing through MGR Chennai Central, Madras Coffee House is a reliable option for a quick, tasty, and reasonably priced meal. It’s a must-visit for coffee...

Dear Sir,

The below incident happened on 11/04/2023, 6:30 AM. First i approached the counter staff and requested for 2 IDLY which is my requirement and available in the menu, but the counter staff refused to give and pressurized me to take either 3idly for ₹55 or 2idly one Vada ₹55 I insisted for 2idly which is my requirement and as per the menu.board. But he refused to give and told he will not give . Which is not fair and ethical, hence i raised complaint to the Manager, he was totally rude and not looked my complaint and himself shown poor hygiene standards in terms of notching his nose several time , no caps, not washed his face after morning shift. This shown the standards of brand hence i worried to buy and left the place.

Refer the video footage of your cash counter, portraying poor hygiene standards of Manager, add on to this none of the staff wearing mask in such a high foot fall area and portraying pathetic hygiene standards.

Requesting railway department to audit the video footage on the said timings and take strick action about Madras coffee house.

Note : we are paying money not only for the food, we are also paying for hygiene...

I had visited this shop frequently earlier. The quality of food was deteriorating each time but now the service has also become worse. I ordered a rava kichdi which was priced Rs. 72/- but I got the bill for Rs 106/- on checking I found that vada had been added to the bill. When I asked the cashier he told me it was a combo. I told him but I asked only for Rava kichdi to which he rudely replied we sell only combo sir. I then asked him to show where it was written. He then lowered his voice and politely agreed for a refund for vada. Coming to the food. Upma and sambar was okayish. The coconut chutney was bad it smelled and tasted horrible.

Better to buy good food from...

In Chennai 'Madras Coffee House" is a popular name, you can see their outlets in almost every street of Chennai, but never go by ther popularity. If you are inside the station premises then obviously this is the best place for filter coffee or tea, they have not any seating facilities so don't look for that, and if you want to try their other items then you should try at your own risk. But if you are not inside the station premises then I will suggest that you can consider other cafes out there, do some research you will definitely got some best cafes for best South India Filter Coffee.

This is a good option for grabbing a fast bite and a hurried coffee in between trains. inside the Chennai Central Railway Station is easily found. Even they have interesting discussion things. Particularly their filter coffee received high marks. Typically, the mornings and nights are when the place is busiest (though occasionally it happens all day). Additionally, they offer packed products, mixed rice dishes, and tiffins (morning and evening). When at Chennai Central, you must try this
