Very poor service experience here. Once I entered to the near empty restaurant at lunch time, the manager came running, shooing us away that it is booking only place. Fair enough but either he can offer spot booking if slot is available or inform how to book in advance. Or put a board in the entrance.
After I asked how to book, pat came the reply rudely that book through Swiggy, Zomato and Easydiner. I opened my swiggy app and found 98 slots free with discount 😊. Only after booking and showing the code, he allowed us to take a table.
There is no menu card and only digital menu card is available. After scanning, asked for All day breakfast with egg options, answer is no all day breakfast is served. There is a nice afternoon tea menu, asked for it, told rudely it is available by 3 PM only. At that point time is 2.30 PM. He is very strict.
After this humiliation, just settled for main course only. Water is given in paper cups. If you are saving environment with digital menu, why not extend it to glass of water. Note sauce, chilli flakes can be given only on request. God bless if you order breads. But all of it is forgotten once food arrived as the food taste is really very good. Thumbs up to the chef, only shining star of the cafe.
Towards the end, asked for water. The guy finished cleaning all tables and after seeing me came with water. At the time of payment, our manager 'sir' proclaimed to all to use online payment via aggregators as card machine won't work.
A big family of 6 came next and are seething with anger contemplating to leave as same treatment is meted out to them.
With so many café in Anna Nagar now, the service experience can make or break a business. Owners can make a note of this and train the staff in food service industry to be polite and helpful. If not, soon it will join the list of 'closed' restaurants.
So visit if you are thick skinned enough to withstand poor service to taste the food!!! I will never...

So, story time we ordered soups, korean fried chicken and 2 plates of orange chicken as starters. The soup and korean fried chicken arrived but the orange chicken was not provided even after 45 mins although the service staff kept telling us it's getting ready.... When I went to ask them after 45 minutes I found out that they hadn't passed the order to the kitchen, that's why when the pointing of fingers started.... The service staff pointed fingers at the restaurant manager saying he took the order and didn't tell the kitchen and after sometime told us it's the kitchen's fault. And we were also told that the manager will take an hour to get back.
We did pay the bill during this time for the food we already had and took the kid to a nearby place as she was hungry.... In the meantime, am error has occurred and whole errors are common in the restaurant industry, the way it was handled by the service staff was not professional. The service person attending us just went to the kitchen and did not try solving the issue. We did ask for and get the restaurant manager on call to convey the displeasure to him before we left.
On a serious note, Mayflower team I am a huge fan of your alwarpet branch. Was excited when I heard of the anna Nagar branch opening. Maybe this is an one-off incident or maybe it's a training issue as this branch is only a couple of months old, but this incident left a very sour taste...

We decided to visit The Mayflower (Anna Nagar) after a great experience at their Poes Garden branch, expecting the same quality of food and service. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed.
The service was extremely poor. We waited 30 minutes just for soup, 10 more minutes for starters, and another 30 minutes for our main course. We were at the restaurant for over 1.5 hours, most of which was spent waiting with food getting dry on our hands waiting for next.
The French onion soup was not even close to what it should be – just onions in a bland chicken stock, completely lacking flavor. The starter was okay but definitely not worth the price. The chicken was just average.
The biggest letdown was the lamb dish we ordered – priced at ₹850, the most expensive item on their menu. We waited 1 hour and 10 minutes for it, and it turned out to be one of the worst dishes we've ever had. The lamb was overcooked and chewy, and the dish had no flavor other than an overpowering amount of spice. Our eyes were literally watering – not because it was tasty, but because it was just that overwhelmingly spicy without balance. We couldn’t even eat it.
To top it all off, they added a 5% service charge on a ₹2500 bill, which honestly felt undeserved given the quality of service.
We love trying out new places and have eaten at many restaurants – this was unfortunately one of the worst...
