Cost: A budget friendly restaurant for middle class family i can say. The quality of food is good.. Must try in buffet tandoori, nethili fry. Biriyani could have been much better. Fried rice totally waste.. Overall ok for 500rs Service: I feel the success of the restaurant is service by the staff.. So respectful and customer friendly. Hospitality: The cleanliness could have been much better. The staffs are cleaning the tables very fast but the plates are not washed well the oil are still in the plates. I agree the crowd is high but please bare some time to clean the plates properly. I am washed the plates again before we use that can't be done by all. We have noticed one more important thing would like to share. In all the buffets we go many families are wasting foods like anything which is so hard to see. One person is standing in such a hot and cooking and the cost is unbearable. But some of them bring in full plate and throwing simply like anything. Please stop doing that.. Over all a very good restaurant can try everyone.

Such a nice restaurant for a peaceful get-together. It's actually a small cute restaurant that is in the basement. It resembles forest and there are statue of gorilla at the entrance and down in the restaurant, the arrangement will be like you are sitting inside a forest. You are absolutely free from any noise from the outside world. It's cheaper when compared to any other buffet in Chennai. You can serve yourself as buffet or you can choose to make order like any other restaurants. The food tastes awesome there.... You have various dishes in chicken, fish. But the main course that is rice don't have many options. You have Biriyani and egg pulav. And they serve you both vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes. If you are choosing vegetarian, you can't have any non veg dishes. But if you choose non vegetarian, then you can taste both veg and non veg. The cost differs for vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes. It's a nice place for a family get together. Cheap and best..☺️☺️

The house of awful food. The only good thing which we observed was the cost. 500 for non veg and 400 for veg buffet. But there’s no point in thinking about the cost when the taste of food is so bad. The moment u step in you will feel a very unpleasant smell that would welcome you, followed by couple of broken idols of animals which wasn’t even cleaned for years. Attached a sample pic. Coming to the food, 1. Paneer starter - felt like chewing a rubber 2. Garlic veg balls - fully burnt over spicy ball 3. Crispy corn - bits and pieces of corn half cooked 4. Gulab jamun - fully burnt and hotter than a hot coffee 5. Ice cream - one of worst ice cream ever in the town. 6. Naan/Roti - one full naan is chopped like to a minimum of 7 to 8 pieces. And, the worst part is, most of the food containers were empty. And you have to follow up multiple times and have to wait for 10 min to get it refilled. Think as many times as you can, before stepping in.

Hello. Its your friendly guide Chan. Themed restaurants have become just an attraction today when compared to the exciting experience they used to offer about a decade ago. And the same goes for "The Rock". The ambience that it boasted off has now come down in shambles, courtesy of badly maintained and dull lit interiors. Yes, you get the feel of stepping into a forest, but in this case literally, since the basic requirements of hospitality aren't met. We dropped in on a Sunday evening when it was pouring cats and dogs outside. I had intimated them in advance that we were a family of four travelling by car, since I was well aware of the parking problems in and around Anna Nagar where the restaurant is located. The person who received the call told us they had tables available and park in would be helped by someone waiting outside. When we reached the spot, there was no one in sight to guide us on where to park ( I positively presumed that could be coz it was raining like the heavens gates had opened ). I called the restaurant again and informed them that we had reached and weren't able to get out due to the rain, for which we were told that someone would be coming to get us with an umbrella. So we wait for another 10 minutes and see some sort of activity at the entrance but no one approached us. I called them again and then someone made signs to bring our car over the platform as close as possible to the entrance and that we should hurry in to avoid getting drenched. Imagine doing this with 2 toddlers. But I obliged and we were finally inside albeit a bit drenched. But at least I could get the children to enjoy the ambience that I had done so a decade ago. But much to my disappointment everything inside was run down, from the tables which had paint peeling off to the waiters who didnt have the minutest of inclination of hospitality to show us to our table. We just wandered around and seated yourself at a far corner. Since i wanted to use the loo, i asked the person standing nearby where it was and was just answered with a nod in the general direction of the exit. I had to ask about and found that the loo was on the ground floor level ( the restaurant is located below ground level). Please do not use the restroom there. It was so badly maintained, leaking and the smell was awful. Just the sight was enough to send me hurrying back down. Coming to the main story, the food. I had decided on the buffet, since it costed just above Rs. 450. There was quite the bit of variety served complete with veg soup, starters, 2 seafood dishes, 2 chicken dishes, chicken biryani, a paneer gravy, fried rice, noodles, dessert ( gulab jamun), ice cream, but I should warn you, do not expect to get satisfied with the taste. To say it was average would be an overstatement. We were finally done filling our stomachs and left feeling so very sorry that what was once a great experience was reduced to such a nightmare. The only reprise was the pictures the kids took near the animal figures. I will not be visiting "The Rock" again anytime soon, unless the management takes efforts to at least upgrade the crumbling interiors. So if you are up for a thrill in the woods experience literally ( which includes tasteless food and bizarre service ) you should visit them for sure. Thats it for now. Until next...

The restaurant setup is good we went all the way from Navallur to rock restaurant to experience the unlimited buffet, but I don't feel anything special they have prawn gravy but I don't find any prawn in it. We don't find any spicy dish in buffet everything is sweety . Restroom is not maintained properly in this covid situation. And at last I am sorry to say this the staffs and the manger behaviour is worst. Being in hospitality industry they doesn't know how to behave with the customer. They are rude to the customers. I really felt bad since I am a hotelier I see the difference from other place and this place. They mainly focus on A la carte customers.

Value for money - No Value for customers - No They don't know how to treat the customers. We as a family of 6 nos came and our bill amount is 2999/-. But we are not happy with the service. We travelled all the way to experience this worst service....

Management please rectify this issues:

Don't think you are in pash area any how you will get customers. No , customers will always go to the place where they get good customer service, Quality of the food, ambience,etc..

You should have something different from other restaurants. Not only with some statue and your interior decoration people will come to your restaurant. Customer should feel that this place is value for money then only they will...

The Rock Restaurant in Chennai is known for its distinctive ambiance and seafood offerings. Here are some aspects typically highlighted in reviews:

Ambiance: The restaurant often receives praise for its unique decor and setting. Some reviews mention a themed interior with rock-like structures and dim lighting, creating an intimate and cozy atmosphere.

Food: The menu is primarily seafood-centric, with a variety of fresh and flavorful dishes. Popular items include grilled prawns, lobster, and fish curries. Some reviewers also commend the Indian and continental options available.

Service: Service quality can vary, with some patrons noting attentive and friendly staff, while others mention occasional delays, especially during peak hours.

Location: It is usually noted for being conveniently located, making it easily accessible for both locals and tourists. The setting, while not as dramatic as the Zanzibar counterpart, still provides a pleasant dining experience.
