Worst horrible experience. Absolute no regard for customers. I have been visiting ths branch of sangeetha almost everyday since its opening day. Today morning I visited to have my breakfast and ordered the mini tiffin, which should comprise of idli, masal dodai, vadai, pongal, mini coffee. I additionally ordered a pomegranate juice. When I sat down for my breakfast I has especially asked the person waiting my table if the combo consists of pongal and only upon his confirmation I placed my order. A short while later my tiffin arrived with pongal being substituted by rava kichadi. No explanation on why the change, upon my request the person who served me told me that they ran out of pongal. Fair enough I agreed even though I didn't intend to eat the kichadi. 20 seconds later I saw my adjacent table being served with pongal. I called one Mr. RAJA who seem to be a table manager and asked him why is the other table served with pongal but not me. He said they were special guests of the owner and had called and make a request to reserve a bowl.of pongal. Fair enough I continued.. 30 seconds later I see another table served with a bowl of pongal. I called the person who waited my table saying I placed a order for mini tiffin only because there was pongal and the combo always consists of pongal. To which he called the person who served me to check of they informed me before serving about the change in replacement. She said she had informed the captain Mr. Raja. When I called him again to ask. Why didn't he inform me of the change and despite him saying there's no pongal left I can see 2 to 3 tables being served pongal after me. To which he replies ' irukradhu dan kuduka mudiyum', which translates to what is there only can be served. This infuriated me. I left the table immediately paying my bill without finishing the meal and my juice. I don't go ask for charity in these establishments. They have these combos not to benefit people or accomodate people but only to lure more customers. This branch being fairly new should be more aware that their deemed competitor geetham never discriminates customers based on what they order and the price on these orders. This captain didn't have the courtesy to apologize. I would never visit any sangeetha hereafter. Such a shame. People should educate their staffs and themselves on the value of people hospitality...

Worst hospitality and absolute discrimination. I heard a horrifying incident about the hospitality and service in this branch of sangeetha that my friend faced today. She is a regular to this branch nd I have accompanied her multiple time when I visit her. This used to be a first choice for us ever since they opened. However today marks the downfall for their legacy. Even though she may seem insignificant. But one brick removed makes the fort week. And as they say goes anything new will susbsits only for a brief initial days. She had called me furious narrating the incident about what happened. She order a mini tiffin which should include pongal. But they didn't give her thag instead gave kichadi. They didn't ask her before replacing it. When she asked they told they are out of pongal. She didn't mind and continued eating her other food. But soon afer within few seconds 2 other tables were served full bowls of pongal. When she ask why this discrimination the table manager RAJA blatantly replies without even looking at her face but elsewhere with disregard that what is available can be served and te other people were special guests. This is the new age discrimination I guess. Discrimination people based on the price of their orders. It's a different scenario if the combo didn't include pongal or if they informed her. Here restaurants can't choose what customers should eat. However big or small it's each one's hard earned money. Now her entire day will be ruined. They don't understand the trauma this will pass on. Never stepping inside this branch again. Going to recommend my family friends and circle about the same. Uter disregard for people. Where has the world come to. If a fairly educated person who cam voice her opinion be discriminated like this imagine people who can't. Can't stand to the thought. Shame on...

If you've been to one of the restaurants in the chain, you would have seen the changes in decor over the years - from purely functional to flourishes that mark the growth and aesthetic of the chain

Unlike, let's say, a McDonald's where every restaurant has a standard interior, furnishings and vibe, you can tell how long the restaurant has been around simply by walking in and surveying the layout

The older ones tend to be cramped, fitting in barely enough space for waiters and customers to coexist

This one on GN Chetty Road opened in the third week of November 2024

There used to be a Sangeetha franchise further up the road and then, they broke away.

So this branch is both a rival and a kind of sweet revenge for having lost out on the earlier location

Graphics of Tamilnadu's music and culture adorn the brown walls. A dark green theme with twisting rails on the ceiling has a pleasant effect

The interior signage behind the billing counter is backlit and shows the increasing sophistication

The crowds are already flocking in at 8.00 AM on a Sunday morning. They mill around and it's clear that the restaurant is still ironing out the details of crowd management

However, we are quickly led to a shared table and place our order - a plate of idli Vada, a masala dosa and coffee.

All good and predictable - nothing spectacular.

What's fun is to see how serious the business of eating gets at the other tables. How people place orders, what they struggle with and how the endless queues of waiters enter and exit from the kitchen bearing their orders

This one will create a ripple and hook customers from the other restaurants down the road. It might even attract crowds from the fancy hotel right opposite where the prices are sky high

But customers aren't complaining - the more choice and options they have, the more...

This spacious and cosy restaurant located on GN Chetty Road near Shopping n Temple zone is a good all day dining Restaurant with dedicated n assisted parking and easily accessible from busy road. Though i would have loved had they assured hassle free access to people of determination and elders. We visited on a weekday for lunch and found the Restaurant busy n bustling with shoppers and visitors as well residents from vicinity. We opted for Mini Lunch, which was quite a treat complete and filling meal with a Soft Chapathi, three variety rice all came fresh and delicious with accommpaiments in small portions. The touch of a small portion of jaggery payasam was good to round off. Priced moderate n right for the quality offered and ambiance. Our waiter Shri Karnan served with a bright smile and ensured we had a satisfactory meal and enquired our needs time n time again. The Lady who kept the table spot on also showed genuine courtesy and was unabtrusive. This shows the place is well run by this legendary family of Restaranteers. I am sure to return again..

Review: Sangeetha Veg Restaurant – A True Local Delight Sangeetha Veg Restaurant offers an authentic South Indian dining experience with its canteen-style seating and a no-frills approach to delicious food. What’s Good: ✅ Authentic Local Flavors – A must-visit for those wanting a real taste of Chennai. ✅ Efficient Seating – You’re allocated a seat as soon as one is available, keeping things moving. ✅ Special Thali is a Must-Try – Each dish is unique and pairs perfectly with the meal. ✅ Great Finish with Filter Coffee – The classic small filter coffee rounds out the meal beautifully. What Could Be Better: ❌ Crowded at Peak Hours – Expect a wait, but it’s worth it. ❌ No Private Seating – The canteen-style setup may not be for everyone. Final Verdict: Sangeetha Veg Restaurant is a fantastic place to experience authentic South Indian flavors. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, this is a must-try spot for an unforgettable meal.
