Read moreA private museum. Ex CM of Tamil Nadu and famous actor MGR was residing this house during his tenure.
Now it is changed as museum. The authorities are not allowed to take photos or videos.
But they will take this photo with you and give copy of that with charge of Rs.40 per photocopy.
Entry to this place is free. Mostly almost all museum or memorial allowed the visitor to take photos.
The authorities should allow the visitors/ fans to take photos. It will not affect MGRs image. Moreover they are allowed you tube... (I think with some fee's) and other VIPs.
This place is in a residential area and it is near to Pondy Bazar T Nagar area.
They provide toilet facilities.
As MGR is famous for his hospitality (giving food to visitors). Unfortunately here no drinking water facility is available.
This museum is well maintained. Some places the rooms are closed (for security) but cleaning is not done for many months.
The gift received by MGR is not arranged in proper manner in many places.
However the particulars are clearly visible.
It seems many people not known this place at all. If more publicity is needed to increase the visit...

Dr MGR Memorial House, which was once his official residence, now houses several interesting memorabilia associated with his life, acting and political career. The two-storeyed building contains various mementos that were presented to him for the success of his films. His Ambassador car bearing registration number TMX 4777, which had been modified to include a mini television to enable him to watch cricket matches, looks just like new. The hall on the first floor contains many more souvenirs, as well as posters from his films.
This place is more like temple for most of his fans. This place is a must visit place where you can know more about...
