10 Downing Street - T Nagar — Restaurant in Zone 10 Kodambakkam

Had visited the restaurant on 13 the March 2025.We had booked a table through dine out where the set menu was offered for 60% discount. Since we are regulars on Dineout, we decided to try this offer. When we entered around 2pm, there were hardly anyone around except for a loud family gathering of 6 , and a lone senior citizen in the far corner. As soon as we were seated, we asked the waiter, what was a set menu. He showed us the menu card where there was a set menu was offered for veg 450 rupees and non veg 500 rupees. There were variety of the set menu like Continental, Indian , Chinese etc. In the set menu it was clearly mentioned, one can choose a pint of Beer/ mocktail/ soup and desert, a main course of various choices according to the type of set menu chosen ( Continental, chinese etc ) We clearly were surprised that this many items were offered for 60% discount. We made it doubly sure if this was the set menu, with the waiter.Once satisfied this was the set menu, we ordered the food and happily ate the fish and chips for my friend, and chicken and spinach lasagne for myself, preceded by the soup of the day and followed by the desert of chocolate ice cream. We also ordered butter garlic prawns for we knew this restaurant serves a good butter garlic prawns dish. Now for the catch- We asked for the bill and the waiter brings a bill for 2500 and odd with a separate bill for the butter garlic prawns for 550 rupees and GST. We were flabbergasted. The set menu was 500 each and the total should have been Rs1000/- and GST 18% which would have worked out to 180 rupees and total would have been 1180/-. Here we were presented with a 2500 and odd bill ( inclusive of GST ),and asked to pay 60% of it, which worked out to 1000 rupees and odd. This was a total rip off, even after we had clarified the issue of set menu before ordering the food. This was total daylight robbery. They refuse to clarify how they arrived at the total price of the set menu and when it was very clearly mentioned on the menu card what was offered for Rs 500/-. An altercation with the manager was of no avail. This is after we had clarified with the waiter what was a set menu. Either Swiggy had to be clear in its terms and conditions or the restaurant. I have been availing these Dineout coupons from the time it was available when Dineout was not part of Swiggy.I would say that would be nearly 6-7 yrs. I have never had any issue like this redeeming the dineout offer....

When I entered as a stag I was charged 3k while one of a friend who came as stag was charged 2k. There on everything was disappointing in that place.

I went to the dance floor and danced and I was asked to go out of the dance floor. Rightly not fair, had I know that I will not be let to dance on dance floor I wouldn't even have paid and entered the place.

I was alone and the service was not even descent, I ordered for Metropolitan martini, Bull frog and Beer battered chicken. Got the items after 30 minutes. Nobody bothers to entertain a person who comes alone.

At the entry they told me that it's bollywood night on Saturdays but no bollywood song was played, rather English songs were played.

I'm not given the right service(I have to call the person who takes order more than once to place my order)

I'm not even let to enter the washroom because some rich dude was inside I'm not even let to highlight the service issue I asked for driver to drive me home in my car, they denied but they provided a driver for a group. Btw my house is near DMS.

Yet I'm expected to pay tips for these people.

I would suggest anybody to go elsewhere...

I went to 10 downing street in chennai, i made a booking through zomato. Even after doing booking they asked for stag entry charges which were not mentioned anywhere they were bullying us at the gate at the time of entry. After everything was completed they cane up with bill and started forcing us to pay only via upi and totally denied the Zomato payment service. And started showing us very much disrespect and showed alot of racism because we were from north india in chennai. They started forcing us and all the waiters and bouncers started bullying us. And continuously started forcing us to pay the bill right now. We asked to called the manager he showed up with another waiter and false claiming us to be manager. After alot of bullying they made us pay via Zomato. We also paid the zomato table booking charges. They started saying take it from zomato, complain there. It feels like shit after spending 5k+. Very very bad experience. They also claim that the amount written menu is discounted and forced us to pay via upi the whole amount even after we had 30% zomato discount.
