If you're in Seminyak and have the opportunity to dine at BASABASI, you must go. Trust me - you'll regret it if you miss out.

Yes, there are plenty of delicious Indonesian food around, but none like BASABASI, where it not only offers amazing food, but extremely warm service, elegant decor and beautiful way of serving their plates.

BASABASI means "small talk". They created a welcoming space with a long table to encourage conversations among friends, servers and potential new friends.

Padma was the friendliest and kindest server. I was on a solo trip and she made sure I did not feel alone during the dinner. She patiently explained the ingredients used while elaborating on the meaning of the restaurant and each dish. Before I leave, she surprised me with a complimentary handmade vanilla ice cream top with pumpkin seeds and a BASABASI pouch for future travels. (How can you not love her?)

Back to the food, their pork sate is unquestionably the best I've ever had. It's tender and flavorful with smoky wood/charcoal fragrant that you can't get anywhere else. Rendang beef has the right amount of savory and spiced to go with Nasi Bakur (banana leaf wrapped rice). Portion size isn't big, so it's easier to try different dishes. Plus, you get to choose the amount of skewers of sate to order!

I was very satisfied at the end of the meal - only wishing I would've found this place sooner so I can try every item on their menu! I highly recommend solo traveller, family, couple who are interested in meeting new people and trying delicious local food during their time...

Hands down the best meal of our stay in Bali. We Googled 'good Satay' in Seminyak and we were not disappointed with this find.

Where to start? The restaurant is really modern and fhas a fantastic interior, with an outside seating area overlooking the chefs cooking up the meals. We opted for inside and it was a pleasant experience. The hospitality is second to none. The waitress was so attentive and took care of all our needs and request. Often asking if everything was uo to standard and if we wanted anything else.

The barman knocked up some tasty cocktails. We tried the 'The hot gossip', 'easy peasy lemon squeezy' and the 'Bali-jitoh' and they were all incredible. Highly recommend 'The hot gossip'!!!

The food, as mentioned in the title, the best meal of our stay in Bali. Sooo tasty! We had the Beef Rendang which was the tastiest rendang I have ever had. The chicken Nasi Goreng was full of flavours and a good size portion. On top of this we ordered the chicken Satay and the pork satay (had a great kick to it) and they were so tender, juicy and the flavours were mind blowing.

Highly recommend Basabasi for your evening meal whilst in Seminyak. Will come back again before...
