This place was so fire I had to visit twice!
I came here late evening, on both visits, to end my night with a Mexican inspired feed and a margarita nightcap.
Both times I started with the brisket slider - It’s a smoky, salty amuse bouche portion, and the perfect intro to the rest of the fare on offer.
Night 1 I opted for the Carne Asada Taco, which comes in a portion of 3 and paired this with a La Classica margarita, and followed up with a LacaLaca which has a Jalapeno punch to it. The wagyu steak was cooked to perfection, and although this is the most expensive taco set it was definitely worth it!
Night 2 I did the Baja Fish Taco, and on this night they actually had a deal of 25,000 IDR per taco which is US $1.50 or SG $2.00. So I did 4! The tempura fish batter was light and crispy and the jalapeno lime aioli adds a nice balance of citrus and spice! This time in addition to the La Classica I tried their Rangga Shebanga which is a margarita with a cinnamon and line twist… delicious!
The layout here is fresh and inviting, the staff are friendly and fun and will engage in banter, and the food/drinks are top notch. Highly...

Let's face it, most Mexican restaurants are a disappointments - unimaginative replications of Tex-Mex with the same menu items; soggy tacos, melted cheese on everything, and sickly-sweet sangria.
I won't say you won't find Burritos and Enchiladas et al here, but there are some creative meal options, the flavours are something special, the service is very fast, and the sangria was perfect.
Normally a visit to Mexican restaurant for our family is an ordeal because the kids complain "It's too spicy" and we end up in a bun fight trying to get them to eat something more substantial than corn chips. This is the only holiday restaurant our kids wanted to return to - a HUGE compliment for their ability to please both the kids and the parents.
I would like to have had the music somewhat quieter, but otherwise, and other than Potato Head, it was the best meal of our trip...
Read moreThe tacos here are nothing short of amazing. The tortillas are always fresh, warm, and perfectly soft, providing the ideal base for the star of the show—the fillings. Whether you're going for their savory carnitas, juicy al pastor, or the unique options like the pescado (fish tacos), each bite is packed with flavor. The meats are well-seasoned and tender, and they don’t skimp on the toppings—fresh cilantro, onions, and a variety of salsas that range from mild to fiery hot.
One of the standout elements at Lacalita is the balance of flavors. The salsas complement each taco perfectly, with just the right amount of heat to bring out the richness of the meat without overpowering it. And, the portions are generous, ensuring you leave satisfied.
The staff is friendly and attentive, making sure your meal is exactly what you want. Plus, the prices are reasonable for the quality of food...
