Upon entering into Bossman Bali, the modern look continued to unfold. You’ll find a little bit of US diner’s style with high bar stools and counter tops as well as dining tables around the restaurant. Notably, you’ll also see the open-concept kitchen where what the chefs are doing in preparing the ingredients and forming of the burgers, can be all seen by a watchful customer. Right in the middle, you’ll find the cashier where you can make your orders as well.
The only thing that we didn’t like about this setup is that the smokiness also reaches all the diners in the restaurant. Which means that if you dine-in, it is very likely that you’ll have grilled burger smells all over your shirt. 😅
Eventually, we settled on Lucky Pig – 90K and Numero Uno – 100K. Taxes were included even though we took away and the total came up to 223k IDR or about $19.
Let’s talk about Lucky Pig first.
Lucky Pig came with 2 generous pieces of braised pork belly with a chives based sauce inside. The meat itself was tender and well-marinated. We love the cassava leaf lawar strewn over the top, adding the crunch to the burger. Almost like a Balinese-styled salad to give it a different texture on taste.
As for the Numero Uno, which means “Number One”, had an underlying meaning of “you have to try it since it is number one”. It was a very typical american burger. A hearty beef patty that has been grilled to perfection to infuse the smokiness to it, topped with a cheddar and drizzled in smoked BBQ sauce. The bacon provided the fragrance while the grilled onions provided the crunch. The wholegrain aioli added that little something that is different from the conventional beef burger, bringing the entire Numero Uno...

It is with the utmost sincerity and gravity that I submit to you my findings following a recent excursion to the illustrious establishment known as Bossman Burgers. I must confess that prior to my visit I had harboured only modest expectations, but upon my first bite those expectations were not merely surpassed—they were catapulted into a higher culinary stratosphere.
The bun, I dare say, was not a mere vessel for its contents but rather a soft, golden throne upon which the patty reclined with dignity befitting royalty. Said patty was nothing short of a revelation—juicy without succumbing to sloppiness, seasoned with an elegance that whispered rather than shouted, and grilled to a degree of perfection that can only be described as transcendental.
The supporting cast—the cheese, melted in rapturous harmony; the lettuce, crisp yet deferential; the sauces, bold but not brash—performed their roles with a synchronicity that would put even the Vienna Philharmonic to shame. Indeed, one might liken this burger not to a meal, but to a symphony of flavour, conducted by the unseen maestro in the kitchen.
And so, let it be recorded in the annals of family correspondence: Bossman Burgers is no casual eatery. It is a temple of indulgence, a sanctum of savour, a veritable cathedral of culinary achievement. I entreat you, dear kin, to consider it not merely as a dining option, but as a pilgrimage—an experience that elevates the humble act of eating into a near-spiritual pursuit.
Yours in profound gustatory...
Read moreDAMN SON. I know a good burger when I taste one & this one is a HECK TO THE YEAH.
El Chapo (95K++ IDR), you've stolen my heart. A solid medium rare juicy 160g seasoned beef patty, melty cheddar cheese, tonnes of rocket, tangy Chipotle mayo with salsa verde - everything about this was perfect. Down to the toasted burger Buns that are soft & fluffy.
It was truly love at first bite. I would eat this again in a heartbeat.
Expected it to be crazy crowded during dinner, but the good folks at Bossman asked me to sit at the neighbouring Sisterfields (where peak hour isn't so much during dinner time) so it was all good. Had to still get in line to order my burgers, but they serve it to you at your table.
I decided to use my credit card because I am starting to fear that I didn't change enough cash for this trip. So much good food to eat, & so many tasty beverages to consume!
Happy to report that there are no extra charges for using your credit card here. I realized by using my OCBC 365 card, I get 6% rebates on overseas dining (min spend applies)... So that eases the pain. Of eating so much. 😂
