We have lived in Bali for 6 years and close to Vinaka for this past year. We discovered Vinaka early on and have grown more and more fond of both the food/drinks but also of owners Anna and Andy. We love love love their home made noodles (try the vegetarian ones with fruit!), the rice pudding with passion fruit and the aloe vera drink! Soooo yummy! Everything is made to order, fresh and fast! It’s delicious and super reasonably priced! There’s even quite a few Indonesians eating there, that tells you something! We love the company of the dogs who are part of the family and atmosphere of Vinaka! Anna actually helps coordinate vaccination and sterilization campaigns for the dogs in the area. And also she’s a big Green Warrior, actively working towards ‘Plastic Detox’ which is also the name of the NGO she’s helped set up. Anna is highly educated and conversations with her are always enriching and educational, all the while being light and fun! We value Andy for his green efforts in growing his own veggies and herbs as much as he can. And helping the kids of the community! He’s a true role model. They both are! So in short: Vinaka is a must-go place both for the healthy and delicious food, the unique atmosphere, the fun and interesting socializing, the cool conversations, and is great if you are into socializing with locals. These guys deserve all the praise because they go above and beyond simply...

Read moreThis warung is so great that we came twice. We were so lucky to sleep 100m from this lovely place that we highly recomend.
The couple who runs it is very charming. He cooks, and she takes care of you.
A big rectangular table enables customers to talk to each other (which led us to having one of the best conversations with another french guy now living in Bali, but that's another story). The atmosphere is great, thanks to her jokes and her kindness. She gave us really good advice to where to go hiking after lunch, and gave us a contact for a driver who would lead us to munduk the day after.
With no surprise Food is in line with my above comments. Note that noodles are home made. We had mie goreng and another dish, both were excellent, tasty and made with heart.
As for dogs, which are probably unbiased, they really seem to appreciate the atmosphere of this place too, adding to the liveliness of this wonderful restaurant.
I forgot: if you love to draw, don't hesitate to ask, they will be delighted to let you add your contribution to the drawing book.
Can't wait...
