We went here with very high hopes. Especially after reading the reviews. One very brilliant thing here is that they take reservations via WhatsApp. I wish more restaurants would do that here in Bali. It would make life easier for so many I am sure.
The appetizers were quick and quite good, the old fashioned that I ordered was awful, then everything fell apart. My wife main dish came quick, but mine took another 10-12 mins, and being who we are, she waited hoping it would come any minute. The staff were looking at us and asking each other where my dish was, but nobody came to provide an update or ask if they could take my wife’s dish and keep it warm while the kitchen got their act together. When my dish finally arrived it looked really good, the sauce tasted great the potatoes were slightly under cooked but the beef medallion was the inedible. The steak knife could not cut through the strings in the meat, it was not chewable. But not once did a server, and there were three only 5 feet from us, came by to ask how everything was. If a dish has been delayed and you can see the struggle someone is having, it seems like a great cue to come over and check how everything is. Even without those cues, it should be a practice. Anyway, seeing that I could not eat what I had ordered and my wife’s pasta was cold, there was no point sticking around. We asked for the check, and that is when I told the server about my dish, he did offer and took it off the bill, but unfortunately the damage for the restaurant was done. We obviously won’t be going back and I hope it was an off night for them or at the least they fix the issues In the kitchen and maybe offer better bar tender and...
Read moreWe recently dined at Italian Job, expecting a great meal, but it turned out to be a huge letdown. The vegetarian pizza was a disaster—completely soggy, with all the toppings sliding off the moment we picked up a slice. Normally, thin-crust pizzas are supposed to be crispy, but this was the exact opposite—soft, limp, and honestly unappetizing. To make it worse, the vegetables weren’t just soggy—they were slimy, which was honestly disgusting. The margarita pizza was slightly better but still soggy, which was really disappointing.
We also ordered the gnocchi, which was supposed to come with a specific cheese (I believe it was Burgandia or something similar), but they replaced it with feta instead. While they did inform us about the change, the taste was off—the feta literally tasted like mayonnaise, so we were practically just eating mayonnaise.
To top it all off, when we asked for chili oil, they brought us regular olive oil instead. And the worst part? The whole meal cost nearly 500K for just two pizzas, gnocchi, and one coconut water. For that price, we expected at least decent quality, but what we got felt more like a scam. Definitely not worth it. Would...
Read moreI absolutely love this place, especially to take and impress guests. Situated in the heart of Seminyak surrounded by action the decor is superbly beautiful. The service was amazing, not in your face or being interrupted mid conversation all the time like too many pushy places nearby. It was easy to catch the eye of the attentive staff without them interrupting or breaking our fun. We were all impressed. I love it and its a regular go to place and we converted our group who wholeheartedly agree.
So the place is great and the staff were sensational especially Kartina.
So that leaves the food.. which is amazing (too many dishes to mention, but enjoyed by all our table)
one couple in our group owned a Italian Restaurant in Brisbane for years and were desperate to find great Italian Cuisine in Seminyak/Legian - and once we knew that, the choice was simple, the "Italian Job" and he was really impressed and plans to add it to his must visit everytime in Bali list - and especially when he wants to impress.
We go anyway 😀
Seriously love the "Italian Job" and everything about it - it's 10/10 for the best night out...
