Visited Revolver with my husband yesterday, and loved everything other than the customer service provided by 1 of the waiter, Aqus. I’ve never left any negative reviews, so when I do, it really does mean something. When he showed us to our table, he was hostile to us other than a half smile, and didn’t explain to us anything about ordering or the menu, etc. We had already been in Bali for 7 days then, and it was the first time we felt incredible unwelcomed.
Bcos we sat right next to the door, we could see his mannerisms towards others, and it was completely different when he was providing service to Western customers as compared to Asians. He was extremely polite, asked abt their day, and even explained the menu etc. As the Western couple was seated right next to us, we noticed that took their drink orders immediately after seating them (ignoring us even though he had alr passed us the menu 5 mins ago), and served them the drinks while they decided on their food menu. I truly don’t think anything warranted this behaviour, and it would have been nice if he could have been equally friendly to all.
The other service staff though, they were fantastic! And they completely made up for his shortcomings! They proactively recommended us the menu, exchanged kind pleasantries, and we really appreciated their kind gestures :)
While we were getting the bill, we intentionally didn’t call out to him, but another waitress. He didn’t bother hiding his disdain bcos he was whispering things into her ear and it’s evident it was about us. We also overheard him telling the western couple next to us to leave them a good Google review (but not us), which is why I decided to take it here.
Nonetheless, writing this publicly bcos I hope he’ll be more careful with his body language as it can make others uncomfortable. Hoping that this differential treatment was just a misunderstanding. Other than our encounter with him, the rest of our experience at Revolver was a fantastic one, living up to the reviews here on Google. I hope it’ll be great for everyone else too :)

Read more2 years ago - post pandemic, this place was less busy but the food was full of flavour. I wanted to re live it. My favourite with the killa chilla mint, not anymore i tried twice. Like almost every restaurant in Bali the flavours have been watered down. We tried the grilled cheese sandwich with the eggs your way. They come out cold unfortunately. Generous serving though however couldnt make up for cold eggs, cold sauted mushrooms and a cold grilled cheese with a watered down coffee. Honestly i was going to not wrote this review but the thing the final thing that made me wrote this was the staffs zeal on continually trying to upsell me. Upon sitting i Asked if they had bottled water in plastic bottle i can purchase (so of i dont finish it i can take it with me along my journey which is something most aussies do), despite not asking for free water he told me "no thats cheap water" im sorry brother where do you think you are? At a mishellin star? Then finished taking my order tried to uosell me on hashbrowns, no thanks. We got our cold meal and interupted us making out his intention was to check in on the meal then asked us again "would you like to add anything to your meal" then did it again a 2nd time. Bro i just wanna finish my meal. If you ask me its the equivilant of being out on the street. Bike bike bike. I understand you have kpi but comon man just serve good food good service and you will meet them. Im so so sorry but it had to be said. I too am a business owner and ive bever given a review less then 5 stars because i understand the risk the businesses take and always try to speak to the owner and if unreachable will send an anonymous email. But in this case it really just needed to be said so everyone is aware and the restaurant can go back to...
Read moreJust came here this afternoon and loving the place. I'd say one of the strongest point of this cafe/bar/restaurant is definitely the people. The whole staffs are super friendly. They talked to the customers like friends and they get pretty creative in naming things.
The foods are also quite good. It is reasonably priced (for Bali and restaurant of this kind in general) and of good quality. I got the Underbelly and i loved everything they put in the plate. The bacon is nice and crisp. The chicken sausage was super easy to cut. It has a very interesting (in all the good ways) texture, consistency, moist, and juiciness. It's like no other chicken sausage i tried before. And i just loveee how the mushroom was seasoned.
Pablo Escobar was my choice of drinks today and i'd say i was a bit disappointed but maybe i shouldn't? When it was written Watermelon and Mint in the menu, i was immediately intrigued. I was expecting watermelon juice with some mint kick in it. But i got watermelon juice with mint leaves on top instead. So i felt a bit cheated(?) Haha. But it was fine.
Disclaimer: the place is located just a few feet walk into the alley so it might be a bit tricky to find. So slow down when you're looking...
