Asparagus Seminyak — Restaurant in Kuta

We had an underwhelming experience at asparagus, perhaps due to its high ratings our expectations were not met. The food was reasonably priced however was quite bland and came in very small portions. The squid was lovely but we got 8 tiny pieces for 87k which was not worth it (pictured). The staff were very nice but on multiple occasions interrupted our conversation and asked questions about us which is a nice idea but very unnecessary. They also gave us about one minute to sit down and look at the menu before asking if we were ready. The atmosphere was nice but had a slightly tacky feel to it possibly due to the lighting, tablecloths and room decorations. Once we went to Asparagus Seminyak we never went anywhere else for breakfast. We were greeted by Febri who was so kind, thoughtful and lovely. This place is a magnet for tourists from all over the world because it offers such an amazing variety of food. In a place like Bali it I'd great to eat somewhere so clean and well run. The other great aspect to Asparagus Seminyak is that the all inclusive buffet breakfast including coffee/tea, juices and health tonics is under $20 Australian dollars or 99,000 rupiah. Such a beautiful place to eat in Seminyak. We stumbled across this place walking along one of the main streets and saw they had live jazz music playing. We were just planning on staying for a quick bite but ended up staying a few hours. Amazing food, super quick service, great atmosphere with such quality live music. We had pasta, chicken parmigiana, some cocktails/ mocktails and chocolate cake for dessert. All great sizes and great value for money.
