Woooowwww. I heard so much about this place and finally got the chance to visit on Friday. Unfortunately, that was Friday with no after party or events. The unfortunately verdict - it was such a disappointment.
Service - untrained and difficult but it comes with good dose of friendliness and willingness to help even if they have no clue. The waiter kept recommending the things we mentioned we didn’t want. I guess the easiest way to please build rapport is to repeat what the other people said, they did bring drinks and food we didn’t want to the table. I sent them all back and paid for them. They didn’t know what to do and I dared not ask for further recommendations.
Beverage - go for red wines by bottle or glass (but asked for the most recently opened bottle. Prices reasonable USD20/ glass). White wine would’ve been totally oxidized. Cocktails … the most recommended for taste and presentation was the #1. Last wave - that was syrup, sparkling water, and gin perhaps… totally watery. It got to sent back. So go directly to #2 and down the list and the classics.
Food - ehm. The best was brioche with a can of anchovies. Then second was the pork chop cotoleta which was just katsu/ schnitzel / Milanese/ paneer/ breaded. I liked it and was good. Bucatini Cacıo e Pepe - too many good competitors in this dish within short walking distance. Bouef tartar - just don’t. It got sent back and we canceled other beef order. I left the place still hungry but boozed up. If this review sounds harsh, it is for them being in the heart of food capital of Canggu & Seminyak that’s loaded with good food.
Do I recommend this place? Yes, only for the Morabito after party, their funky events with cabaret/ shows/ DJ with dancers etc. Please go for the entertainment cuz they may have...
Read moreI recently dined at Lila Brown Restaurant, and unfortunately, my experience was nothing short of disappointing. The service provided was abysmal, with staff members showing little regard for customers. The wait times were excruciatingly long, leaving me frustrated and hungry.
Moreover, the quality of the food was far from the high standards that were advertised. The dishes lacked flavor and freshness, making it clear that little care was put into their preparation. It's disheartening when a restaurant fails to meet its own promises.
On top of these issues, I was appalled by the blatant misogyny that permeated the atmosphere. The disrespectful behavior towards women was both uncomfortable and unacceptable. It is deeply disappointing to witness such regressive attitudes in this day and age.
In conclusion, I cannot recommend Lila Brown Restaurant to anyone seeking a pleasant dining experience. The combination of poor service, long wait times, subpar food quality, and misogyny make it an establishment to avoid. Save yourself the disappointment and explore other dining options...
Read moreMy friends and I had dinner in this restaurant. We got recommendation for restaurant and we were very excited to have dinner there. Atmosphere was great, majority of the food was good however the service was way below expectations for such venue. It took 10 minutes to get the menu, main dishes were not served together, steak was rare instead medium, one of the dish was wrong and we had to wait longer, again. All of this can happen however the waiter seemed inexperienced to handle situation and the manager didn’t bother to even approach us and say anything although we asked for him. He simply ignored us. For the price we paid we had far better...
