A Parisian Retreat amidst Balinese Exoticism
Upon entering this quaint establishment, nestled in the vibrant heart of Bali, we were immediately transported to the charming streets of Paris. The ambiance was a poetic blend of Balinese warmth and French elegance, creating a serene escape from the bustling outside world.
We were graciously welcomed by the staff, whose attention to detail and knowledge of the menu were remarkable. Their genuine smiles and prompt service throughout the evening showcased a level of professionalism and courtesy reminiscent of the finest Parisian eateries.
The culinary journey began with a classic French onion soup, its rich flavors melding seamlessly with the crispy, melted cheese on top. Following this was a perfectly cooked duck confit that melted tenderly with each bite, enveloped in a lusciously savory sauce that was a testament to the authentic French flavors.
The pièce de résistance was the classic crème brûlée, its crisp caramelized top giving way to a creamy, rich custard that was a dance of sweetness and texture, rounding off the meal on a high note.
Each dish was a work of art, presented with a finesse that was visually enthralling, making the dining experience as aesthetically pleasing as it was gastronomically satisfying.
The meticulous service, the beautifully crafted French cuisine, and the inviting, elegant atmosphere made our dining experience an unforgettable voyage from the tropical heart of Bali to the nostalgic streets of Paris. This restaurant is not merely a place to dine; it’s a rendezvous with the essence of France, offering a gastronomic retreat that leaves a lasting impression on the...
Read moreUnfortunately Little Frenchie didn’t live up to the hype at all. It’s a shame because I’ve had steak frites in Paris and across Europe before and was really looking forward to having some good food here based on the advertisements I’ve seen around Canggu.
The steak sandwich I got was dripping with oil and grease, and the steak pieces were gristly and overly fatty. I had to wipe my hands with the towel every few minutes. Also, the amount of steak they gave was mediocre - probably about 5-6 pieces per sandwich. The guy next to me ordered the same thing after me and his was significantly thicker with more steak - I hope they’re not profiling as I’m an Asian female and he was a western male 🧐
The service was also lacklustre. An extra cost for water (looked like Normal water not from the bottle) - what good restaurant does that? Plus I had to ask for it a few times and even go up and get it myself from the counter. The restaurant wasn’t even full (only 4 tables sitting). They weren’t the friendliest and also seemed a bit snobby.
Fries were okay, atmosphere was lovely. I’m hard on this place just because of the hype from the ads and social media campaigns etc. I wish they could have lived up to the hype. For now, I won’t return and will be advising my friends who wanted to try this place out...
Read moreFinally a restaurant that serves a delicious steak frittes at a reasonable price. I have lived in Bali 25 years and sometimes value for money is hard to find these days. Little Frenchie got it right. The steak came perfectly cooked with a mountain of delicious frittes, thin and crispy a la Francaise, (just a little over salted for my taste, will ask for less salt next time), a beetroot salad, which was also delicious. Escargots and flank steak bowl for my wife, which also tasted great. Dinda our wait staff was lovely, knew the menu like the back of her hand, even could explain what part of the animal the different cuts of beef came from. Thumbs up to Dinda. And a little scoop of complementary ice cream to top it off. (I wish there had been vanilla ice cream to sit next to our chocolate mousse, which though delicious, was more like a cake than a mousse.)
One suggestion, very friendly security guard outside, it rained while we were having dinner, maybe ask the security to move helmets off parked motorbikes to a dry location.
All in all, a roaring success, can’t wait to come back for the duck confit. Why the place did not have a line out the door is puzzling. Though thanks to the fact the place was not full, we sat at a banquette with cushions. I am not a fan of hard chairs without a...
