Review of Neighbourhood Food: A Local Gem in Berawa and Seseh

Nestled in the heart of bustling Berawa and surrounded by the tranquil fields of Seseh, Neighbourhood Food is a delightful local eatery and coffee shop that perfectly captures the essence of relaxed dining. This charming spot is ideal for slow breakfasts, laid-back afternoon snacks, and cozy weekend dinners, inviting you to unwind and enjoy the simple pleasures of good food.

The menu at Neighbourhood Food reflects a commitment to freshness and simplicity. Each dish is thoughtfully crafted, showcasing wholesome ingredients that highlight the best of local produce. The focus on quality is evident in every bite, as the restaurant supports community artisans and makers who share their vision. This dedication to ingredient integrity truly shines through, making for great-tasting food that feels both satisfying and nourishing.

One standout item that should not be missed is their burger. Juicy and flavorful, it’s a perfect representation of the care and attention that goes into their dishes. Whether enjoyed during a leisurely lunch or as part of a weekend dinner, this burger is sure to impress.

If you’re in the mood for a drink, the cocktails at Neighbourhood Food are equally commendable. Their highball and gin and tonic cocktails are refreshing and expertly mixed, making them the perfect accompaniment to your meal or a delightful way to unwind after a long day.

In summary, Neighbourhood Food is more than just a restaurant; it’s a community-focused eatery that prioritizes fresh, local ingredients and a relaxed dining experience. Whether you’re stopping by for breakfast, a snack, or dinner, this local gem in Berawa and Seseh is sure to leave you satisfied. I’ve been coming here so many times this trip and it’s easily one of my favourite spots in Bali. The place has a really chill vibe; open space, exposed concrete and beams, relaxed energy, and always a good crowd without feeling too busy.

The homemade ginger beer is a standout; you can tell why it’s always sold out early, it’s that good. Food-wise, I’ve tried a bunch of things and haven’t been disappointed. The Mec Tempeh Salad didn’t have the original dressing both times I ordered it, but they swapped in a lemon dressing that actually worked perfectly. The Plant Powered Bowl is amazing, and the Mushroom Buckwheat Bowl (I added tofu scramble) is another go-to.

The Run Club Smoothie might be my favorite drink here, the coffee and cocoa flavor combo hits perfectly pre workout or as a breakfast drink. The only thing that didn’t totally impress me was the Açai Bowl, which had a few ice clumps at the bottom, but everything else has been consistently great.

The staff are always super friendly, and they’re really easygoing with any customisation to dishes or drinks. Whether you’re vegan, vegetarian, or a meat eater, it’s an easy spot for healthy, fresh food that actually tastes good.

Highly recommend, it’s one of those places you end up coming back to...

The place has a fresh new look after its renovation, with a more spacious seating area at the back. We used to visit often, though there have been a few changes to the menu.

The food and coffee remain good, but the kitchen staff should pay more attention to presentation. I found some old watercress on my plate, and the stems were unusually large. It’s disappointing when garnishes are not as fresh as expected.

Additionally, I ordered sparkling water, but the staff brought still water, even after confirming the order twice. It took a while before another staff member eventually brought the correct order.

We also ordered extra bacon on the side, which was forgotten. Although the staff admitted the mistake, it took so long to arrive that we had nearly finished our meal by the time it came. Once again, it was brought by a different staff member than the one who originally took our order.

In addition, It’s common in many places for the person who takes your order to be the same one who serves it. This way, if something is missed, they can respond quickly, ensuring a better...
