I came here in February with my boyfriend. I was tired, hungry, and just needed a good meal and a non-alcoholic drink. I wasn’t in the mood for anything complicated - no drama, no bad vibes, just peace.
My boyfriend is older than me, about 10 years. I’m 25. I love mature men - doesn’t mean he’s my sugar daddy or anything. So don’t assume and don’t judge.
Unfortunately, one waitress really killed the vibe. An Indonesian girl with the worst attitude I’ve experienced in a restaurant. She came over, no smile, no eye contact, and literally threw the fork on the table like I wasn’t human. The energy was so cold, so bitter - like she had some personal problem with me.
Maybe she thought I was just some local-looking girl dating a rich man and felt some type of way. For the record, I’m Malaysian but even if I were Indonesian, does that give you a pass to treat someone like trash?
I wish I knew her name, but honestly, her energy was so bad I couldn’t even look at her properly. My inner anger would’ve made a whole scene if I did. Luckily, another waitress -super sweet and professional, came to give us the bill. She was kind, and I appreciated her for that moment.
To the rude girl: if you’re reading this, I truly hope you heal from whatever you’re going through. Life’s too short to be walking around bitter. Good luck...
Read moreI had dinner at Irma Baccaro in Berawa and what an amazing experience! I ordered the tuna steak with a broccoli mash that was absolutely incredible (pretty sure there was a touch of butter in there 😍). As a French Normandy girl, I can say it was truly delicious, smooth, flavorful, perfectly seasoned. It came with fresh broccoli florets as well, very healthy and tasty. The fish was super fresh and cooked to perfection.
There were also two little pizza-style bread bites on the side… delicious!
My dad had the five-cheese pizza, and honestly I think it’s the best pizza I’ve had in Bali in five years living here. The dough is exceptional, full of flavor, great texture and the cheese was perfectly balanced, rich but not overwhelming.
I also really appreciated how attentive the team was regarding my pregnancy. They kindly explained which foods on the menu I should avoid, such a thoughtful and reassuring touch 🙏
A special mention to our waitress Adel, absolutely adorable, professional, and genuinely kind. Service like that makes the whole experience even better ❤️
The portions are generous: we couldn’t finish and took leftovers home (about one-third of my plate and half of my dad’s pizza).
As soon as we left, my dad kept saying: “We’ll come back, we’ll come back!” And I totally agree, we will...
Read moreWe loved our authentic Italian experience at Bacaro Pizza Canggu. With a big group of friends we were lucky enough to sit at the major table right in the heart of the restaurant and directly in front of the pizza ovens were it all happened - so we could watch live how the chefs were preparing our delicious Neapolitan pizzas.
We started off with incredibly delicious Bacari starters to share - the best Pesto Hummus we’ve all tried so far in Bali! For di Zucca, filled zucchini flowers were super delicious and not to forget the Octopus salad - all in all a very fresh & top notch taste of the Italian style tapas. We’ve tried different pizzas each - very authentic, thin crust & nice toppings. Our favorite part was the fresh Mozzarella topped on each of our pizzas. Not to forget the incredibly delicious Panna Cotta!
Outstanding staff with a very good background knowledge of the Italian cuisine, background & some extra insights (e.g. were the name of the restaurant comes from and how the traditional Italian Bacari are prepared). Especially Adi was very dedicated, remembered our order of the whole group of 6 people (he remembered 12 different orders) by heart and was able to give very nice recommendations for starters & delicious red wine.
Definitely our new favorite Italian spot in Canggu - we will...
