WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! We usually never visit restaurants with a rating of 4.5 stars or below, especially after READING THEIR BAD REVIEWS about customer service. However, we decided to try Pukako since we needed Wifi and wanted only coffee and a pastry. What a big mistake we made.
We tried the Matcha latte and a regular cappuccino with coconut milk; both were very strong. I donât mind strong coffee, but the Matcha was so strong it was bitter. Even after adding sugar, it was still too strong. We spoke to the waitress and asked if we could trade for another drink. She refused (with a smile). We asked if we could get a refund. She refused (with a smile). We asked for extra coconut milk to dilute the Matcha. She said we would be charged an extra 5k.
We then asked if your customer isnât satisfied with something you made, what do you offer? The waitress said, âIt is not our fault. We use premium Matcha, so thatâs why itâs very strong. The customer still has to pay.â We then expressed that the amount of Matcha theyâre using is too strong in ratio to the small serving cup. Finally, she offered to bring us a âlittleâ bit of coconut milk at no charge. It was still too strong after adding the coconut milk, so we didnât drink it but paid for it. We couldâve made a scene because mistreatment is very frustrating, but we remained calm, paid the tab, and immediately left. By the way, this waitress never came back to our table to ask us if the Matcha was better. She even sent another waitress to deliver the coconut milk.
We chose to keep the peace and trust that the universe will teach Pukako how to provide customer service and treat their customers with hospitality and care. Avoid this place if you want to have a positive experience. Itâs clearly a pattern of you read other customer reviews and they havenât improved. Go to the Monkey Bar for coffee or Molecha Organic Warung for food. Their food is better, the prices are more reasonable, and you still get an...
Read moreI had breakfast there this week followed by coffee. First no sugar was brought. Twice they had to be asked to provide a spoon to put it in with by which time 5 minutes later the coffee wasnt hot. So poor service really. The cooked breakfast was pretty average, I am vegetarian and asked for tofu or tempeh instead of the bacon this they could not do (in Indonesia !) so they still charged the same price anyway for less - the "poached" eggs were hard boiled - and the total bill was more than I would pay in Australia for better food and service. Poor value for money. 15 percent Tax and service extra. Not much in the way of vegetarian options. The setting is beautiful by the rice fields on a scooter and foot path and so some digital nomads probably love it. Certainly a nice escape from the hot and busy main road in Ubud which is only 5 mins walk away. However there are several other lovely little warungs further along the path with better food, friendlier staff, much cheaper prices and...
Read moreA cute and artistic cafe
It's small but warm and cozy. You can enjoy their delicious brownie or pain au chocolat while enjoying the view of vast paddy fields. Sometimes the ducks gave a good show simply by walking and following each other.
The fruit juice was nice too. Mint Zee was my favorite.
I didn't give 5 stars because my pancakes had honey poured onto them while my request was it's being separated. When serving it,, the waiter just informed me that the cook forgot about my request. He still served the wrong order and didn't even bother to ask me whether that's okay with me or not.It was quite disappointing....
And... the maple syrup they use isn't the high quality one... (hence I asked for honey instead)
Nevertheless, they still deserve to get 4 stars as it's basically a nice cafe with friendly staff and very lovely view and ambience. I visited it 5 times during my 19-day...
