Past half way through my trip to Bali and my muscles were aching from climbing mountains, and going up and down steps to visit temples and waterfalls.
I booked myself the Nature Spa Package at the Midas Spa via their website. The reviews had been hit and miss, but having walked past the Spa, it seemed to be a lovely place to visit.
I was glad I went! I knew as soon as I was welcomed with a chilled drink I was going to be looked after.
I was treated to most wonderful array of massages and felt very pampered. My therapist was incredibly good. She checked the pressure she was using and adjusted it accordingly. She kept an eye on the bruise on my back (from a previous injury) to make sure it wasn't aggrevated.
The full body massage was very relaxing and yet also managed to work out the knots in my shoulders and neck. All limbs were included and the massage was front and back.
The facial was amazing! The therapist checked I was happy to have honey on my skin (so, vegans, they are fully aware of your needs). I was even treated to a bit of blackhead squeezing!
This was followed by a manicure and pedicure and I could choose my Polish colours - there's a great range. I was given the option to continue to wear an eyemask while this was happening (I did) or to be able to watch. I may have nodded off a couple of times š¤.
Then, it was time for some chicken and egg noodles for lunch - part of the package and supplied by the restaurant next door. It was delicious and more than substantial.
After that, it was time for a hair treatment... with the most incredible head and shoulder massage. Any knots that may have been hiding in my muscles were eradicated.
I thought that was it, but to finish it all off I was brought a flavoursome sweet tea to drink and ease myself back into reality.
To address concerns from previous bad reviews:
The Spa is inside a closed, air conditioned building with gentle music playing throughout. If you listen VERY closely, you may hear the odd moped from the main road, but you'll honestly be too zoned out to notice. Noise from other guests. Several other customers came in. The only ones I noticed were the loud Americans (sorry Americans, I know youre not all like this!), but they soon settled down and once their treatments started, they were as quiet as mice š Staff not being attentive.... this is ABSOLUTELY NOT TRUE!!! Each and every therapist was completely focused on their own client and made sure everyone had an amazing experience.
If I had another spare day in Ubud, I'd book myself another Spa session here. Alas, I have other activities planned but I will recommend this Spa to all and sundry, with no...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām leaving this review because when I tried to give honest feedback in person (without leaving a bad review), the staff told me I should post it on Google so the manager could read it.
My friend and I did the Shirodhara treatment, which included 20 minutes of massage and 15 minutes of oil. Unfortunately, it was far from relaxing, the oil was burning hot, and the flow was inconsistent. It would stop and start again, sometimes touching my head with her hand, breaking the rhythm. Just when I was finally beginning to relax, she suddenly told me to get up because it was time to wash my hair.
We had to go downstairs, and she washed my hair with a really poor-quality shampoo that left it feeling dry and rough. Then she tried to brush my very tangled hair using a brush full of other people's hair, I had to tell her no.
When I went to pay, I told her I wanted to share my opinion. She turned to her colleague and said in Indonesian, āThese ones donāt want to pay!ā I speak Indonesian and understood her. I told her, āI do want to pay, but I want to give you my feedback in case you're open to improving the service.ā
290k for such a disappointing experience⦠truly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLIARS! in my previous review - everyone can read my name twice - I clearly wrote how things went and instead they say that it was me who didn't want to pay. I paid without problems. The ruined trousers were not mine but another customer's. And if you don't know that shirodhara is an Ayurvedic ritual, don't propose it, because you perform it really badly. Make a better impression by not saying every time the customer didn't want to pay when they leave you a review you don't like.
ITALIANI: EVITATE QUESTO POSTO! Cuscini sporchi, tazze sporche. E potete anche leggere le varie balle che dicono per il fatto che ho scritto una recensione negativa (quella precedente) cercando di girare la frittata in modo che il cliente passi per pirla.
Edit and replies to their umpteenth lies: I paid 14⬠for a massage so I don't need to ask for the discount or (as they said) "I don't want to pay". 14 euros. They are poor inside and very bad people who don't care the wellness of the customers but only the money.
If you have cameras is not a problem, I only tell the truth. BARBONI DENTRO...
