We discovered Warung Pojok Nyuh Kuning in 2015 while staying at hotel on the same street, and since then the cafe became a must-visit for us whenever we're in Ubud. The hardworking owners Made and Putu take pride in preparing and serving fresh and delicious meals, ensuring that food is 100% safe for tourists stomachs.
This year, we were pleased to find the cafe relocated to their stunning family compound, inviting guests to enjoy authentic Balinese food in a beautiful traditional setting.
The portions are very generous and variety on the menu makes it an enjoyable experience every time, every dish is a potential favorite! And their fresh juices taste better than anywhere else , so I can’t help myself but buying a couple of different types , lol The atmosphere is humble and welcoming, thanks to Made and Putu's warm hospitality.
If you're looking forward to tasting an authentic Balinese cuisine, which is prepared considering tourists stomachs requirements, this warung is a must-visit place for you as well, we highly recommend!

Read moreWe were here to have dinner with friends who eat here a lot and they had raved about how good the food is. We were keen to try it as we like to find good local warungs that don't just dish out westernised versions of Indonesian food. Maybe my expectations were too high, maybe I'm too fussy about what is or isn't traditional food, maybe I should have known better when I saw a place full of westerners.
The spring rolls were nice, the sauce had a little zing to it (and I mean little), they were fresh and hot which I really enjoyed. I had the ayam bakar for my main meal and it was nice enough but where was the kick? Not even a hint of chilli and no sambal on the side! Yikes. A lack of good sambal for a classic Warung dish of ayam bakar is pretty much a sign that the place caters mainly to the palate of westerners that want some flavour but no kick.
So I'm not saying that the food or the place is bad, but some reviewers saying "it's the best food in Bali" obviously steer clear of more traditional places that are full of locals. The food was nice, the owners are nice, the restaurant is nice.....but where's the sambal??!! I was seriously torn between the 3...

Lunch and dinner is served.
