I was immediately drawn to a Sidakarya mask — it felt like an energetic match, as if it chose me. The kind shop owner recognized this and shared it with me in such a generous and heartfelt way. My partner also couldn’t leave without his own piece — a Barong mask for protection.

The owner, a third-generation wood carver, upholds a tradition of excellence that truly shines through in the quality of the work. After exploring the entire central area and comparing masks, none matched the intricate detail of these carvings. While prices here are slightly higher than those at mass-market carving stores, the superior quality justifies the difference. A special mention goes to the owner, who is passionate about his craft and shared fascinating family history about the shop. As other reviewers have noted, my only regret is not being able to purchase more of his art.
