Read moreWe stumbled upon this shop near the Monkey Forest on a rainy day — and it turned out to be one of the most memorable moments of our Bali trip.
Every wooden mask here is a true work of art, carved with heart and soul rather than mass-produced for tourists.
I was immediately drawn to a Sidakarya mask — it felt like an energetic match, as if it chose me. The kind shop owner recognized this and shared it with me in such a generous and heartfelt way. My partner also couldn’t leave without his own piece — a Barong mask for protection.

This shop deserves all the support it can get — these are real artists, preserving a deep tradition through their hands and heart. Thank you for sharing your art and...

A special mention goes to the owner, who is passionate about his craft and shared fascinating family history about the shop. As other reviewers have noted, my only regret is not being able to purchase more of his art. Local artists like him are increasingly being edged out by larger or foreign stores, so I highly recommend supporting him over chains...
