The architecture of this cafe is unique, unlike other cafes I've been to. It resembles a birds nest, and the cafe has 3 stories with an open concept that allows the wind to pass through. To get to this location is easy if you have a small car or come via motorbike as the roads are narrow and steep downwards and incline. Some cars that have many passengers in it may struggle to drive up as it is a long incline road when you leave the cafe towards central ubud direction. The cafe has a parking lot right across it for cars and motorbikes. Because the cafe is right next to the road, you're able to hear the vehicles driving by and honking, including trucks trying to drive up the hill north of the cafe. Additionally, there is a construction occurring a few meters away from the cafe that can be heard.
There are many spots in the area and in the cafe for pictures with the building or even with the bamboos. The cafe sits right above the river but you won't be able to see it as it is covered in all sorts of trees. Someone has left a review that there are a lot of insects and ants crawling around the cafe, though I didn't encounter that many ants nor insects, and they are bearable. This may alter depending on weather and how close the trees are to the building.
To order and pay in the cafe, you must go to the cashier to order and pay instantly. Once you arrive, you're able to take the menu with you to your preferred seats and choose a menu item, and then go to the cashier to order and pay. The prices are quite expensive for the fact that the menu items are basic and many cafes in Ubud provide the same items but for much cheaper. I ordered two Mojito drinks and one snack, which cost Rp.148.000. I was able to use a discount via Grab food dine out deals, which gave me 20% off.
Some have written reviews about being able to smell the drainage and the toilet, though I only got a short wiff of it. This may also depend on how close you are to the road and the toilet, along with the wind direction.
Overall, I came here due to curiosity and have fulfilled it. It was an interesting journey and experience in the cafe. Though, I will not be returning any time soon as the cost and journey is much more worth it to...

Read moreTL;DR: It’s just not worth it.
First of all,the place is hard to reach, especially if you are using a bike. This place is practically located on the bottom of a very very steep decline. On top of that, the road is extremely slippery on a wet condition, due to mosses.
The foods are just okay, but the price makes it just not worth it (you can basically have better foods elsewhere with a cheaper price). Little bit more details:
Nasi Bebek Betutu - dry & no sambal (which I think it’s a big deal for Indonesians Nasi Campur Jimbaran - tastes actually good, probably the only thing I’d recommend Red Pine Smoothie Bowl - too watery for a smoothie bowl Mille Tiramisu - can’t taste the coffee at all, basically just a mille cake topped with chocolate powder with a lot of cream cheese (definitely not a tiramisu)
The Coffees are pretty much the same (mediocre, overpriced coffee). Unfortunately the filter coffee is not available when I was there (I wonder why): Magic - just okay but it’s just too overpriced (I can’t get any hint of anything) Espresso - again, a typical Espresso with not much uniqueness (I can get $1 espresso elsewhere which tastes the same) If you are going to Ubud to have some nice coffees, go to the coffee roasteries (yes there are several) near Ubud Palace, they are waaaay much better.
Last, if I have to address it, the scenery is nothing special. Just stare at some...
