I was walking around Ubud and it was raining so i pulled up here and i have to say this is the best hidden gem i have ever found
Caesar Salad: i like the crouton VERY MUCH cos they use garlic butter i think? So fragrant it adds more to the salad
Dory E2C: fish was very well seasoned, their mashed potatoes is like velvet. They also put sautéed veggies which is my favorite
Nasi Goreng Sambal Matah: this is very unique to me, the spices didnt cover up the sambal.. theres also a looot of topping like satay, chicken, eggs etc. i wonder how they make the eggs cos its soft but not too soft, idk how to describe it. I recommend to order this when youre up for some big portion food
Lava Cake: if you like chocolate like me, then you have to order this. Not too sweet and u still can get that bitter taste. Somehow theyre smokey
Creme Brûlée: another dessert cos there’s always room for it. I like what they do with the “fruit salad” (idk the name) it was really fresh
Meat Lovers: the place was too comfy so i stayed up until dinner and had pizza. The thin-crust pizza was baked perfectly! The cheese! The meat! Anything you can think of
For beverages i ordered Hot Tea, they have many interesting beverages and i will try them later (i ordered too many food lol)
The place is so comfy, the staffs are very friendly, they also have amazing garden and i really like the scenery. Really suits Ubud. Also their music tho🥹 it was perfect for the rainy weather. I spent half the day to dine here and it was really worth it. If youre around Ubud you really have to visit this place
PS: they have a good boy...
Read moreAdministration! It could be a great profitable place due to great location and the building design! But! The concept of the eatery is not clear at all!!! The design is trying to say: “it’s Instagram all-day breakfast/lunch place”, however the menu is like “classic pizza-pasta-burger eatery”, and the waiter started his welcome-speech from “we have breakfasts till 10:30!” There are only 2 high enough tables to eat inside, another tables are short for “drinks only”, especially the central one is taking a huge place but it’s more like hotel vestibule furniture - who will sit there to eat? We ordered a lot and it was uncomfortable to eat while the table is under your feet.
Also: stuff needs extra training. The waitress lady ran away to the chef twice to ask if they can Exclude the beef from pizza to make it vegetarian and if they can add coconut milk to matcha instead of regular milk. Is it Bali 2022 here? 2 waiters were standing at the bar while we were waiting smn to pick up dirty dishes. Then we understood no one will come - we called for them. All these things looked very unprofessional((
I was watching 2 couples who came and experienced the same “problems” with choosing the food, it took a longer time than usual - this mean smth.
UPD: the second couple moved from short table to tall one !
One more time - the building and space are great! You need to rethink the concept and menu and train the stuff !
ps The pic which is above the bar represents my idea of...
Read moreNew place in Ubud near my villa so I thought to drop by and pay a visit. Good: Layout and design looks very nice. Very stylish somewhat comfortable seating (unless you have a princess butt then it'll be hard for you). Interesting decor. Love the tall ceiling and skylight. Makes it unnecessary to use lighting during the day. Good way to conserve electricity. They gave complimentary shrimp chips and a tiny glass of fruit imbued water with mint leaves. I ordered their specialty Dori E2C Food was decent but a bit salty for my taste (it's an Indonesian thing as many places make everything a bit salty). Mashed potatoes was very nice. The taro iced latte coffee was alright. Think the amount of whipped cream used was excessive. Less would have been better as it wouldn't overwhelm the espresso as it did. Point of Improvements: try to reduce salt in the fish and perhaps leave the extra salt on the sauce that was lathered on the plates. Kudos on trying to be "upscale" for a coffee/eatery place. Good way to differentiate yourself from the local competition down the road. Love to see the live music (was told they only have on Friday/Saturday) Overall, the atmosphere, ambient music and cheerful staff made it enjoyable to spend our money and time here. Love the washroom layout and nice decor. Might consider karaoke nights on the Sunday-Thursday when there's no love performance. It might draw...
