Disappointment at first bite.
Was having high expectations from the ratings, pictures, and even the menu looks promising.
My husband ordered chicken steak, the chicken was fine but the gravy tasted cheap like those instant powder gravy. The butter they use for the mash potato tasted like super old butter. The salad was soggy, the leafs were already withered.
I ordered Byron fried rice, I mean it’s fried rice nothing could go wrong but when it came, the chicken satay was really bad, it was sour and tasted horrible. The rice they’re using was also really soggy which is not suitable for fried rice.
Told the waiter about the chicken satay and she apologized but then she asked me back what do I want her to do, well, what is your restaurant policy? Discount? Take it off the bill? You tell me. The other waiter offered to make a new one for me to take it away as I was leaving but I refused. Nice gesture but why would I eat the same thing which is probably won’t...
Read moreWe went here for brunch and were pleasantly suprised with the (big) portion and the taste. It was delicious! Couldn't think of another place that serves cured/smoked salmon as good as Byron in Bandung city. The potato chips are a great addition too. We came back the next day for lunch and ordered pesto pasta and beef katsu curry rice. The pasta was fine but I found the curry a bit too artificial-y. I expected it to be more frangrant and spicy (or at least a bit of a kick).
The place was stunning as well. The high ceiling and the wood and glass combination gives a minimalistic, yet luxurious vibe.
However, I realized the lack of discipline regarding the health protocols. They didn't ask for body temperature and there was no hand sanitizer in sight. It was fine at first but I felt uneasy when I saw a waiter and waitress taking off their masks and putting it back on over and over again. I hope they will do something about...
Read moreWonderful experience in this place. For the food, all of the spices and seasoning blend beautifull and nicely, combined with nice and comfortable atmoshphere, I must say that it is money well spent. Tried their new menu of american spiced ribs and turned out amazing since it has a hint of star anise and a little bit of spicy streak inside the sauce.
Their house special dessert is incredible, you must try kolak pisang waffle which come with vanilla ice cream, fried banana, surprisingly light and fluffy but crispy waffle.
Since the price of normal beverages almost the same, their selection of mocktails are quite appealing and reasonable in term of price and product value. The reccomended one is Java Sensation, which use coconut water with fizzy soda water.
The service is acceptable but still have some room to improve especially for...
