We came n visited this place by recommendation of a friend. Almost all the food we ordered didn't taste nearly good to our liking. Baked fritters (bala2) was dry and hard to chew. Macaroni cheese is watery and tasted bland. Weird taste of some fancy drinks. Even the coffee was so bland and thin in consistency. We were seated at the back table.. which was a lil too bright and pretty hot during lunch time. The thai salad is oke, though the beef is too tender..make it a bit hard to chew.
But to make things worst.. this resto is too strict regarding outside food. We brought some cake for a friend who had birthday that day. We were not allowed to consume the cake..although we ordered and spent quite a lot there. Never before we received such treatment from any other restaurants in Bandung. Several different waitresses came regularly to warn us not to consume the cake...so disgusting 😤. It totally ruined our mood. So afterwards we headed to different distro, and regretted so much why we ever tried this place.
I've had arisan/birthday gatherings in many well known restaurants in Bandung, incl. Four Points Sheraton.. they never forbid us to consume birthday cake from other vendor.
Additional info: It was on 9th Aug 2019, lunch time. There were 6 of us. We brought cheese tartlets which resembles cupcakes, so we don't have to cut with knife/ easier to consume. When we told one waitress that we wanted to consume that. She forbade it and said that the resto also sells cake, we can consume those sold at the resto, but not one bit of outside food. She even mentioned that your resto has very strict policy about it. No guest was ever allowed to eat any form of birthday cake at GnB, unless those bought...
Read moreReally good menu! The custom salad is the best thing I order. The ingredients are fresh, and there are lots of dressing options that you can taste before ordering. The dishes are often inconsistent, but usually still taste good. For example, the Pick Me Up smoothie is supposed to be green from kale and spirulina, but sometimes it comes pale like too much banana. I come here so much that many of the staff know me, and there are very good servers. Sometimes the restaurant is understaffed, and we wait a long time to find someone to take our order, and bring the food out. The deserts are so good! They have a power bar that is fudgy, chocolaty and salted on top. There are no ingredients listed on this. The maca bliss balls are soo good, and from the ingredients list, look like they are dairy, gluten free, and maybe vegan. There are dairy free, gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian options, but sometimes the staff don’t understand dietary restrictions, and also get confused between gluten free and vegan. They also use vegan and vegetarian interchangeably, so if that matters to you, just ask more questions, and rely on the menu.
Since the menu has unique and very fresh ingredients, there are often dishes that are ‘sold out’ so just be prepared to be flexible.
The bimbibab is very tasty, and so is the rosemary chicken, tempeh Buddha bowl, and salmon...
Read moreMedium small place, indoor smaller than outside. Would be too crowded for large group more than 6. Nice, fresh ambience. Most menu are variant of raw salad from organic ingredients. Had Thai Beef Salad, while friend had Vietnamese Noodle Salad and a glass of Almond Milk. You can also customized your salad, very helpful for vegetarian. Several rice menu, e.g Hainam Rice, Bali Mixed Rice. Beverage was quite unusual collection of healthy drink, wide array of coffee, and some variant of tea. Various smoothies and cold pressed juice were available, too. Price range mid-high and up. Anyway, you could taste the freshness and the high quality of ingredients used, so kinda worth it. Portion just right, not too small and filling. Both salads tasted excellent, Thai salad rather spicy hot. Almond milk was fresh and unsweetened as it should be. Will...
