Noughts & Crosses coffee — Restaurant in Bandung City

Hidden gem cafe in paskal, located in front of burger mountain boys, inside the house building. 🍰 Thai tea cake : I wouldn't say it's good or not. It depends on your taste. If you are a lover of thick cream, maybe you will say this cake is delicious. The texture of this cake is very soft and quite tastes of Thai tea, it's just a little unfortunate that the cake in the form of a sponge cake is super duper a little in the middle, so the whole cake is just thick cream which is chilled to form a round 🍰 Lotus biscoff cake : Same as Thai tea cake. Only the sponge cake in the middle is a little more. But the outer part of this aesthetic cake is still very thick with cream. 🍜 Beef pho : Highly recommend and the broth is delicious 👌 🍝 Salmon lasagna : Medium portion of lasagna with additional salad, good enough for you if you like western taste ☕️ Coffee : For coffee it tastes very strange, and the espresso isn't thick at all. I don't know if it's mixed with water or what. it doesn't taste coffee and can be said to taste "cawerang" 🍼 Blue latte : Not too sweet, slightly milky taste. Sudah beberapa kali ke Noughts & Crosses tapi tadi setelah kunjungan entah ke berapa kali gue baru inget kalo gue belum pernah review. Karena tempat ini layak direview banget and I've got some things so say.

Terletak di pojokan bangunan baru "The House" di kawasan Paskal Hyper Square, tempat ini cukup menonjol dengan dekornya yang minimalis namun cozy. Nuansa kaca dan kayu mendominasi selain rangka besi yang menjadi tulang bangunan ini, tempatnya sendiri tidaklah besar, tapi cukup lapang buat kita ngobrol dengan santai.

Gue suka kenyamanan dan kesederhanaan yang tempat ini tawarkan, plus menunya juga beragam mulai dari kopi, varian susu dan menu non coffee, pastry, dan main course juga ada. Sejauh ini gue baru makan beberapa varian pastrynya, tapi belum pernah makan menu utamanya meskipun review orang-orang gak ada yang negatif sama sekali. Beberapa menu yang tried & tested adalah berbagai Croissant mereka, Eclair mereka juga sangatlah memanjakan lidah, terus baru-baru ini gue liat mereka juga ikutan jualan Croffle. Presentation-wise juga keren, gue apresiasi selera mereka memilih alat makan dan minum seperti beberapa gelas double-wall di Iced Americano gue plus beberapa keramik dari brand lokal yang memang gue familiar. Hal paling sederhana dari presentasi indah mereka adalah garnish berupa herbs diatas Iced Americano yang diletakkan dengan indah di atas permukaan busa kopi. Jadi kebayang kan komitmen mereka akan presentasi makanan & minuman yang proper.

Namun di samping hal baik tersebut, ada beberapa hal notable yang menarik buat gue bahas. Pertama, pastry mereka bukan yang ready dalam jumlah besar, dan bukan freshly made saat kita pesan. Jadi lebih ke pastry di etalase yang dihangatkan gitu lah ya. Hal ini kejadian pas gue pesen croffle yang tinggal sebiji di display dan ternyata udah dibeli orang lain sebelum gue. Saat hal tsb bukanlah masalah besar, tapi tentunya perlu jadi catatan tersendiri kalo stock mereka gak segitu banyaknya. What you see (on the display) is what you get. Selain itu, I guess it's worth mentioning kalau harga mereka juga layaknya segmen yang jadi sasaran mereka: middle-up. Jadi harganya ya juga middle-up untuk seukuran black coffee and pastry. Terlepas dari itu semua, Noughts & Crosses bisa jadi referensi ngopi santai yang berdekatan dengan Mall Paskal 23 dimana suasananya lebih chill dan less crowded.

At first glance I didn’t know that there was a cafe in the first floor of this building. When I first came in, it felt homey, you have to order beforehand at the cashier and tell them where do you want to sit. Prices ranges around 25k - 50k for drinks.

I personally liked the ambience of this cafe, as the background music choice was superb as well. They also have a power socket in each seat and free wifi available to use.

I ordered the Ice Black (29k) and it was bold, that’s the way I like it. I also ordered the Choco Coffee Croissant, it’s very good and you have to try it if you can 😋. I also ordered Berry Coffee (35k) it’s a combination of Espresso and Raspberry Jam which creates a fun way to enjoy coffee even more.

They also have a dedicated toilet only for customers of the cafe, just ask for the key to the cashier to open...
