Mamma Restaurant Live Seafood & Steamboat — Restaurant in Batam City

My order: Salted Egg Sotong Belacan Spinach Deep Fried Baby Squids Shrimp Omelette Black Pepper Crab Steamed Mantou

The food was delicious, honestly better than an average Chinese restaurant in Batam. I visited their restaurant around 5pm local time and there was no queue at all. It is very near Nagoya Hill Shopping centre (Walking distance). The food came fast and the staff were attentive and nice, no complaints. Only bad thing was that their dining area allows smoking, but other than that, the place is very clean and modern, with proper air ventilation and good lighting.

One thing memorable about their food was that their black pepper crab was HUGE, AFFORDABLE, and DELICIOUS. The black pepper sauce complemented the crab meat well - The meat was sweet and succulent. Perfect and of comparable quality to high-end restaurants in Singapore. I will come back again when I visit Batam....

9 of us came for dinner. We sat upstairs in aircon comfort just in case there were mosquitoes! Nicely decorated, clean and dry especially the toilets. We had Teochew steamed fish- kerapu which was v good but because they serve it on food warmer, it quickly became overcooked! We wanted fish soup and had to DIY with hot pot or steamboat.. Only Dory was available, not good fish for soup. The pot was huge, the heat was not hot enough to bring it to a boil rapidly. It was ok but the steamed fish stock was actually better. The steamed prawns were excellent, as was gong gong. Kailan and broccoli were also good. I was disappointed with fried cumi cumi as they were overcooked and almost burnt. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 One of the best seafood dining experiences I've ever had! Came with a big family of 11, and every single one of us truly enjoyed the food. Everything was delicious, fresh, and served beautifully.

A special shoutout to Mbak Sari, Mbak Tantri, and Mbak Selfia for their incredible service. They were warm, attentive, and made our dinner even more memorable.

I mentioned it was my mother’s birthday, and they went above and beyond! They surprised us by turning the mee goreng into a birthday “cake”, complete with lights and a birthday song entrance. What an entrance — it absolutely made our night!

On top of that, they even gave us a 20% discount — such a thoughtful gesture that we truly appreciated.
