Restaurant Sederhana presents you with an array of homely Indonesian classics, all carefully wrapped and laid out in front of you, and you pay for only what you unwrap and consume. A generous sharing portion of rice is also provided, trust me when I say that you’ll definitely go for a second helping.

Every dish served was flavourful, with some of the standout dishes being the tapioca leaves braised in coconut milk (lemak daun ubi), chicken in coconut and Birds Eye chilli gravy (ayam masak lemak cili padi), beef rendang, tendons stewed in coconut and chilli, and an amazing green chilli sambal (sambal hijau) to top it all off.

Another major plus would be the clean and comfortable dining space, with equally clean washrooms to match. One of the best and most comfortable meals I had in Batam.

For 2 pax, we paid 350k IDR in total, which is a steal considering we ordered enough...
