This is one of the best Japanese Restaurant in Medan. The atmosphere, service level, ingredient quality, as well as flavour authenticity are superb!

FOOD The food here is and has always been very well presented. All the time, the food that you ordered will look exactly like the ones in the pictures (which is miraculously rare in Medan). One of the thing to take note of is; although the selection of food in the menu is not as extensive as Sushi Tei or Okinawa Sushi, Izumiya has it all! Baffling as it may seem, they tailored the menu just nice enough to cater different people at different times of the day. Let's say you're an office worker looking to have a quick lunch, sushi and avocado salad is your best bet. Looking for comfort food? They've got hamburg steak and Ebi Tempura curry rice. They also do ToriQ styled kushiyaki if you'd like. Just desserts? Chocolate lava cake it is! All in all, every single item in the menu is well made by the chefs in Izumiya. For any time of the day, do give it a try.

DRINKS First things first, their lemon mugicha is downright amazing. The quality of the green tea is also excellent. This is the only Japanese restaurant that serves Ramune soda in Medan. However, as a medium to high end Japanese restaurant, I think Izumiya should explore a more extensive range of teas and how to brew them.

SERVICE & AMBIANCE If there is one word to describe Izumiya, it is cozy. The staff members are very friendly. Service is prompt and precise. It feels very comfortable to dine here. There are booths available for a group of up to four to sit and the privacy is not bad at all. One thing I wish that Izumiya has is a private room to host events with VIP guests.

One of the best Japanese resto in Medan. Well done! They adheres to the covid protocols strictly. Upon entering the resto, temp check and hand sanitizing are mandatory. Plus point of a measure only very few resto in Medan adopted is they provide free plastic mask holders for each guest. This shows how attentive their staffs to the guests. They also provide e-menu if you prefer ordering thru your phone. Kudos!

Their food quality is amazing. My favorite maki would be sushi bomb. You shouldn't miss their yakitori as well. The freshness of sashimi was okay, but not the freshest in Medan unfortunately. As someone who usually dislikes tamagoyaki (for its weird sweet taste), I surprisingly like theirs a lot! Well, the tamagoyaki was slightly modified into okonomiyaki with seafood stuffed inside, so the taste was savoury and very umami. The ramen broth was so flavorful as well. 1st time I entered the gate, I feel the calmingly Elegant Japanese wooden decoration and ambiance surrounding the restaurant.

This time I try the Vegetarian menu & surprisingly they have 38-40 menus of Vegetarian worh separate menu from conventional one.

And Astonishingly, 3 menu I choose randomly is Fantastic. Word can NOT represent how yummy the dishes apart from not oily & gorgeous presentation.

Not only that, the waiter/ress are helpful & friendly as well

The utmost is the price is really affordable with the Quality of food served that I believe it’s proudly recommended for Medan people who are dominant Vegetarian & sometimes looking for lucrative resto for guests or meeting.
