Mutia Garden — Restaurant in City of Medan

This was my first and maybe last time visiting this restaurant. I couldn’t even bring myself to order food because I was already disappointed by the drinks.

The avocado juice was bitter. The choco chips tasted old. I wouldn’t have minded the price if the drink was actually good, but it just wasn’t worth it at all. Honestly, even the avocado juice you get from street vendors tastes better.🙂

It says “fresh coconut water,” but it wasn’t fresh at all. There were black spots around the coconut, it looked like mold or something. When I asked the waitress about it, she said: “Itu karena luarnya sensitif kak, bersinggungan sama kelapa yang lain, makanya hitam, kak.” Does it make sense? 🙃 The taste wasn’t fresh either, you could tell from the water and texture. It was unpleasant, and we couldn’t even finish it.

As you walked up the entrance to this restaurant, you will see a huge dining hall. Inside there seems to be three "restaurants" that belong to the same company. There are Thai, Chinese, and Japanese cuisine. The only caveat is that the Japanese dishes can only be ordered and consumed when you sitting at the Japanese seating area whereas the other two can be ordered from anywhere in the venue. We opted for the Thai cuisine and it was pretty good. The omelette and the steam fish are our favourites. Although the dishes are meant to be shared, we find the portion can be smaller on some dishes. The service is friendly and food comes out fairly quick. Love the design of the building. They provide a few choices of food from: chinese food, korean food, local indonesian food, western food and singaporean favourite. The drinks taste good, and have quite many choices. The pricing although is quite expensive but it's acceptable for the place. They have a large green space for children to play and running around. The toilet is clean. Do not expect to have waiter waiting around at your command. The place is self-serviced but very convenient. The food taste okay. You can enjoy your meal indoor and outdoor.
