The Cups — Restaurant in City of Medan

Tried for English breakfast. Told there were no hash browns so not possible. I said swap it for another sausage. It took them ages to ask the manager who hides behind his employees, they're so frightened of their bosses here, then came back and said there are no sausages. I was like wow. Went back the next day and guess what. They have no bread. I tried to explain to her that we're in a big city, you can find bread if you are so inclined to go slightly out of your way for your customers. She said nooo sorrrrrryyyyyyy in that frustrating Indonesian attempt to soften something (we don'twant sorrys we want solutions fyi guys), same routine I said ask the boss, then she just came back and said the bread order comes in the afternoon and they'd already run out. It was 9am. Bear in mind, she told me this after having already taken the order and my coffee arriving. Unbelievable. About to leave Medan, but I have to leave a good review for this coffee shop. It may not have the most modern decor, but it offers a great atmosphere, delicious food, and reasonable prices. New cafe / restaurant just around the corner from Sun City Plaza in Medan. There used to be a warung (basic local restaurant) here. New owners have given it a facelift with fresh decor and a more contemporary menu and feel.

Staff are friendly and helpful. The food and coffee I had when I visited are as good as any I have...
