The Stepping Stone — Restaurant in City of Medan

This is a fusion cafe between local and western culinary. Ordered its porridge, aglio olio, sandwiches, kebab, breakfast set, chicken skewers (sate ayam), fruit juice and americano.

Western food is disappointing - shredded chicken used in the sandwich tasted weird and bitter, no vegetables such as crispy lettuce to go with; expecting egg mayo, but sunshine egg is in the sandwich with two leaves and some mayonnaise; potato chips aren't crispy at all and cold; aglio olio is tasteless. Hot americano is a totally out - plain, coffee strength too low, and warm, not hot.

Local food not bad - chicken skewers for kebab are well marinated, not too hard and pita bread is soft, sate ayam isn't over-grilled and dip with its peanut sauce, porridge is superb with its side dishes and special sauce.

Place is very instagrammable, parking is plenty at the condo's...

This place is not practicing Social Distancing. AT ALL. The cafe is already small and packed, yet they keep accepting customers eventhough it almost full. Not even keeping one table emptied between customers. My table is between two other customers' table with only 50cm apart on the left and right. Sigh. Jump to food review, my aglio olio is overcooked and is watery instead of oily. I add smoked chicken which I pay 20k more for it but they just give me a tiny bit, and it doesn't even taste good. Latte is average. Waiters are so busy bcs of overloaded customers and it's so hard to call them just to give me chili sauce (which they supposed to give me when they delivering my calamari?) Parking outside building cost 10k...

waitress services are so bad. definitely wouldn't recommend to anyone who wants to come. The waitress is rude, not only 1 but several waitresses especially the one name wenny. i have already paid with qr but then they say that they didn't receive the money. i have all the data like transaction id. I HAVE ALREADY PAID! but they wont let me go and ask me to pay once again. Finally we agree to me paying once more and the next day when they check, they will return the money. It's been 4 days since that day and there are no responses from the stepping stone side. Place atmosphere is good but I'm COMPLETELY DISSAPOINTED! never expect me...
