Came here with a group of 40 pax. We have sent all our orders 2 (two) days prior, to ensure that the kitchen would not get overwhelmed and we don't have to wait too long for our food. We even narrowed down food selection to only four options of menu so there won't be too many variety of orders and we only have to order drink on the spot.
Appetizers came out fast (mostly platters that don't require a lot of prep time). My group arrived at 18.06 Bali time (we have also informed our time of arrival) and our main dishes started to get served around 20.15 ish.
Here's the craziest part: after that 2 hours of waiting, my wife (who still had not have her order, the Sea Bass) approached the manager next to the kitchen asking (politely, still), "I'm just wondering, why does it take so long?".
Manager replied, "Because it takes time to process".
Wife questioned, "Yeah but it has been over two hours. It doesn't make sense to me".
Manager "clapped back" and said, "It doesn't make sense to you, but it makes sense to me."
Dear Manager, first and foremost, you are in a hospitality industry. Two hours late and no slight of regret on your face, no single word of apology to anybody in our group while you were moving around the entire night we were waiting for our fold. That is ABSOLUTELY NOT how you handle a complaining customer (my wife), especially when customer complaints POLITELY, for your lame and super slow service despite having received all the orders days before.
Secondly, you are in Bali, Indonesia. Get down of your high horse and learn more about the local custom of respecting people. Indonesians almost never respond that rudely to their customers ESPECIALLY when you are the one in the wrong.
My wife and two other friends decided to have their food to-go, which is ridiculous. Manager should be really ashamed of himself on his poor attitude. Not only that, it shows the lack of skills in managing the restaurant/kitchen.
I ordered a burger, and although it's not bad and the fries were crispy, I promise you it wasn't worth the 2-hour wait. It's 3-star burger at best. Bali is loaded with great burger joints. Attached is the 2,5 hour wait Sea Bass.
We are definitely NOT EVER coming back to this place, thanks to the horrible waiting experience. And manager, you just earned yourself 40 people NOT RECOMMENDING the restaurant to their friends because of your attitude.
Would recommend Gordon Ramsay to have a...

What truly sets Cork Bistro and Wine Bar apart is their exquisite wine selection. The restaurant manager's deep knowledge of wine was evident as he guided us through the extensive list, recommending perfect pairings for our meal. Their wine tasting promotion is a fantastic opportunity to explore new varieties and find new favorites.
I had the pleasure of visiting during one of their jazz nights, and the atmosphere was simply electric. The live music added a vibrant yet relaxed vibe, clearly a hit with the regulars who seemed to enjoy it as much as I did. The combination of great food, exceptional wine, and soulful jazz made for an evening that was hard to leave behind. My absolute favourites Pumpkin Soup, Bebek Goring, and the cake of the day.
In my opinion, Cork Bistro and Wine Bar is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy delicious food, top-notch wines, and a welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're a local or a visitor, this place promises a memorable experience that will leave you coming back for more. I know I have been, and each time they remember my favourites and never forget to highlight things I could try. I'll be back for...
Read moreWhen I first arrived at Cork Bistro & Wine Bar in Sanur, I was greeted by Pak Antony, the manager. What struck me was seeing him, a foreigner, personally mopping the floor. That small moment spoke volumes about humility and hands-on leadership, and it instantly set the tone for the experience.
The atmosphere was serene and refreshing, especially right after the rain. It felt like the kind of place where you could comfortably spend hours working or just enjoying the calm energy. The staff were equally warm — friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable when explaining the coffee and menu, which added to the overall experience.
There were a few details that could be improved. For instance, when I ordered an iced latte, the glass was placed on tissues instead of a proper coaster. Once the tissue got wet, it didn’t hold up well and looked a little out of place compared to the otherwise polished and thoughtful setup. Small touchpoints like this could elevate the presentation even further.
As for the food, I tried the fried rice and finished with the lava cake. Both were satisfying and complemented the overall vibe of the place. From my visit, I’d rate the experience a strong 9/10. I believe there’s room to make it even better — especially with the upcoming renovation that will bring more rustic, French-inspired touches. That could take the atmosphere to a whole new level for Sanur.
Good luck to the team — I’ll...
