Medin Bali Cafe & Coffee — Restaurant in Denpasar Selatan

The food is really delicious. Tried several times and always it was perfect. But service might be absolutely awful and spoil the whole impression. Ordered omelet/shakshuka for the first course and syrniki with coffee for the second. Waitress didn't understand and called for another waiter. Explained twice (in some smart cafes no need to explain that sweet mean goes after eggs). In some time we got coffee. Explained one more time that we want it to drink together with syrniki and it should be hot. Then after the first course got coffee again and waited until in became cold. Asked forth! time to replace it again and bright TOGETHER with syrniki and it should be hot. Finally they just heated it probably in microwave. How it could be so delicious food and so terrible service?!

This cafe used to be our most favourite place to go - sometimes 3 times a week - we could take our dogs and the staff knew how we liked things. On the last 3 visits we ordered ayam bakar which used to be outstanding. Sadly we have to report that on each of the last occasions the dish was inedible. Instead of moist fresh chicken it was dry, days old and appeared as if it had been re-heated in the fryer - and all the spices had come off the skin. The difficulty is that while the staff are lovely they do not know how to deal with a comment about their food. Apologies were given but no new dish cooked and still billed for the dish. We took the last one home for the dogs so we paid for it. Dogs wouldn't eat it. We love the place and the lovely staff but we won't be back - there is no consistency and we feel they take us...

The food was some of the most delicious I’ve had this trip… what let’s this place down was the service. It was some of the worst I’ve experienced in Bali. We walked past earlier in the day and the menu looked great and the lady on the door encouraged us to come back (she was brilliant!), but when we came back in the evening the front of house staff seemed disinterested. No one was really getting service, they seemed more interested in flirting with each other than actually doing their job.

We had to request plates, no one came by at any point. If we needed anything we had to walk up to the counter. More training is required if this place is going to stick around. Everyone seemed to be having the same experience.
