Okaeri Japanese Restaurant, Sanur Bali — Restaurant in Denpasar Selatan

Had a great experience when I ate here for the first tome some time ago, spent lots of money so maybe thats why the service was great. This time around me and my bf just wanted a little snack, I did come close to the closing hour but I asked just to make sure and they said i can still order (20 mins before closing time of 21.15 NOT 21.30 like google says). Staff were bit rude and dismissive, i walked all the way to the cashier and had to say hello twice for the TWO staff in the cashier to notice me. Then I asked about a promo, figured out it wasn’t available, decided i would still get that little snack here (wasnt so little as it costed 95k before tax and service). The server was dismissive, straight face, maybe she’s tired idc, shuffling things around on the table whole looking like shes so over it. Then when i walked in to pay, once again the TWO girls did not notice me until I told them I wanted to pay. The server was mopping the floor while there were still guests there, and with my tight grip shoes, I almost slipped! It was very slippery and barely safe to walk on. Perhaps dont start mopping with extra soap if there are still customers, no matter how little I spent (150k). So disappointed with the degrading quality of service, used to be so kind to me always, or maybe its just about the money. Food still...

I had a disappointing experience at the restaurant. My friend and I both ordered vegan meals, clearly marked as such on the menu. However, our meals arrived with fish on the tofu, despite being labeled as vegan. When we raised the issue, the staff initially denied it until I showed them the fish I found. It was only then that they acknowledged the mistake.

I explained that I couldn't eat it due to being vegan, and they took it back. After a short while, the same dish was returned, but fish pieces were still present on the tofu. I had to ask for the entire portion to be replaced, emphasizing my dietary restriction. It wasn't until the second attempt that the meal finally arrived without fish.

This experience was quite frustrating and unacceptable. As a vegan, I rely on accurate labeling and proper preparation to ensure my dietary needs are met. The situation could have been handled better, with greater attention to detail and a more sincere apology. I hope the restaurant can improve their understanding of dietary preferences and provide a more respectful and attentive service...

Honestly really disappointing. We used to be a regular of this place and had a really great experience with their food, was one of the best Japanese restaurant.

However, it's a little bit different now. After around half a year leaving the city, we came back excited, only to find the whole menu has such a different taste, with a higher price on top of that.

The Meat and Gyudons are so unbelievably salty and almost impossible for us to finish. Returning the dish and pushing a complain to the waiter only prompt them to say "it's how it is intended to taste like" which I assure 100% it wasn't like this.

The Miso soup was so tasteless, especially when comparing to miso soups on Japanese restaurants around the area.

The sushi platter itself has such stiff meat and are really difficult to eat, and it's also a little tasteless compared to what they used to taste like.

What happened here? They used to be my favourite Japanese...
