Number of stars depends on age and what you are into at night...dinner? 5 star cuisine? Live music? Social singles?
Casablanca is a decent sized tropical watering hole with a fairly good kitchen, an excellent bar, fast service, friendly Bali style. Live bands are pretty darn good, varied pop rock. It can be a touch crowded and loud, so if quiet conversation over romantic dinner table is your target then Casablanca is not that venue. But crowded is fun right? The triva game gets a bit tiring and obnoxious as the bloke blasts your ears with a way loud mic evrey 20 minutes with a diatribe of useless nonsense, to which, that best I can tell, no one pays attention.
Meet up for drinks, dance, have a bite, hear a band, meet singles, sexy ladies on holiday, blokes on the prowl...that's all here. Expect US prices on alcohol as Casablanca is in the epicenter of beach proximity, tourist strip for Ken and Barbi. Consistent name brand with a take away pizza can run US$40-50 per hour. All ages but typically 20s crowd that can span the gamut - locals, college age, European, Aussies, expats,...
Read moreWow I have to laugh but I was just kicked out of Casablanca for NOT drinking. I was waiting for a friend to finish work who manages a local restaurant. I was not feeling that well so just thought I would wait to have a drink once he arrived. A young bloke perhaps the manager although I had never seen him before came up to me and was very aggressive from the outset. He stated to me that I must order, he said you 'have to give'. I was standing for most of the 45 minutes that I was there. Eventually given his aggression I moved to an outside seat. 1 minute into sitting her was there again. He said you are taking a seat for someone that will pay. I said I will buy in 10 minutes just waiting but he did not accept and asked me to leave as I was not buying a drink. Wow still stunned. The aggression was the most striking thing . Note I have frequently gone to Casablanca and only a few nights ago spent over 150 AUD there. Anyone now I know the culture I will never again attend and will ensure I share my experience across...
Read moreThis place is incredible. I have never seen anything like this in countries I visited. For example: every Friday from 6-7 they arrange "competitions for the strongest bladder." From 6-7pm you can go to this place and drink beer for free in a special area for an hour, but if you use the phone or leave the territory (to the toilet, for example), the promotion is canceled for everyone. Another hour 7-8,u can pay 50k (3-4 dollars) and have unlimited beer for another hour. Drinker heaven. Wow, unbelievable. They also have good prices, in the background plays good planned music, sometimes loudly. Very often Indonesian performers play in this place. They perform popular songs in good English, you are also capable to order any song for free, and this AWESOME group will be able to play this song right there, even if they haven’t prepared before. And that I call Talented and gifted guys. The staff is very friendly and nice! Thank you, it is very pleasant to spend time with you, I wish...
