Senang — Restaurant in Denpasar Selatan

My wife and I have been coming to Bali now for 25 years. The Senang Restaurant would have to be one of the worst dining experiences we have had in all those years. Tonight we went to dinner with 2 friends from the UK. 7pm. Ordered 4 main meals, and 2 shared entrees along with drinks. The drinks came within minutes. Fine. 40 minutes later, 1 entrees came out.... we waited, some 30 minutes later 2 main meals came out. Staff , the girl who took the original order and repeated it back was asked about the 2nd entree. She went away and 15 minutes came back with the 2nd entree. We again waited . 20 minutes later and both of the 2nd mains had not arrived. We had had enough after 2 hours and went downstairs and spoke to the cashier. We told her I would pay for what had been served and nothing else. The girl who took the order came out and spoke to the cashier in Indonesian. She was clearly unhappy. The bill was totalled and handed to me. She had used a calculator and came up with a figure. This figure was checked and an extra 100,000 rupiah had been added to the bill. The cashier was questioned and said, oh sorry error in adding . ........... Rubbish an obvious attempt to get extra money. Time delays in busy restaurants is unavoidable. But in this case, the restaurant, would not have had 6 customers in it. I would not recommend this eatery to any person as there are far more places, who serve their food in a timely fashion and do not underhandedly try and steal extra money for food not provided. I would never go back and suggest others steer clear...

I wont return, soley because when my food arrived it came with a large black cat that jumped on to my table and tried helping itself to my chicken dinner, I blocked it with a placemat but it was pretty determined. A waitress grabbed it and removed it. All good as this is Bali. But just as I was finishing my meal it returned and leapt back onto my table and when I tried it shoo it off it became really aggressive and snarled and had a crack at biting me. I had to physically push it it off the table, and dont call me a Karen it was trying to really bite me . I am not embellishing the encounter. enter at...

So disappointed. Menu and venue looked good. Staff took order and read it back, and then it went backwards from there. 4 of us eating and only 1 starter arrived, then 2 meals only! Other starter appeared after prompting and other 2 other meals came as we were leaving after an hour!!! Service unreliable and other folk served before us. Not recommended at all as 2 of us went without a meal. They need to be so much more organised. Go...
