It’s a very small yet very good Japanese restaurant! Yukimaru is located not in the main street of Sanur, I suggest you take your bike. Book a RESERVATION is a must! Make a call or hit their IG dm, they’ll answer you right away.
Had several of their meals (picture attached with name) and my best 3 were, Tuna & avocado salad, Karaage with sleek mayo, and Matcha milky pudding. All were very delicious! Love the seasoning—giving the best taste of Japanese dishes. Topped with the sweet, silky matcha pudding, I was having a 7 heaven moment! Other dishes were also nice in taste. Portion was enough. Their ocha isn’t refillable.
Price is reasonable, IDR 600k/5 pax. Cash and card payment are available, but QRIS.
Place is very small, if you didn’t book any, you’ll most likely won’t get a table. Sadly, their not available on Grab or GoFood as well, but online delivery is available for Sanur area only.
Neatly park your bike in front of the restaurant and if you bring a car, you might need to find a parking space nearby the restaurant.
The downside are serving time, because the kitchen is limited for 2 cooks and space is small, which I hope they’ll soon be expanding, so you won’t miss a good...
Read moreSmall cozy Japanse restaurant in Bali. The food is very good as the owner is Japanese and she is a very lovely lady and she also speaks Bahasa. The menu consists of not your average Japanese sushi dishes and that is why their food is amazing. It is a small hidden Gem which we found out by accident because the ither restaurant where we wanted to have dinner was closed but recommend this place. The meals are not very big but for me and my gf was this enough.
We ordered the soft shell crab, fried Enoki mishrooms, Japanese karaage chicken, soft shell crab sushi, fried tuna skin in sushi, chicken skin with beansprouts. They do not serve ramen but Udon noodles which are very nice ( I had those in Japan and definitely a must try in case you never had then before.
Service is really good. Nice friendly staff and they will tell you more about the dishes if you have any questions/requests.
As soon as you enter the restaurant it reminded me of the small Japanse restaurants in Osaka, Kyoto and other cities. Small nice and cozy. I would give them 6 stars if they would have a Japanese toilets. For the people who have been in Japan know exactly what I am...
Read moreI had high expectations for this place, especially after seeing it on Instagram. It gave the impression of being a “real” Japanese “restaurant” but unfortunately, my experience didn’t match that image.
From the moment I arrived, I was underwhelmed. The ( guy ) staff member who served me wasn’t exactly rude, but there was no smile or basic service etiquette. It felt a bit cold and unwelcoming.
As for the food, it didn’t live up to what I expected from an authentic Japanese restaurant. I’ve tried so many Japanese places around Sanur and Bali, and honestly, there are several that offer much better food and overall dining experiences.
I’ll admit I’m quite picky and tend to compare, but if you want to run a restaurant professionally, maintaining both product and service quality is essential.
Cleanliness was also a concern, it didn’t feel very clean and considering the price, it definitely didn’t feel like good value for money.
Sorry, but this place just didn’t meet the mark for me. Don’t be fooled by the pictures / lighting. We as a pro foodie wouldn’t...
